    Abstract: In a tapered roller bearing, neighboring pillar parts constitute a first engagement allowance in which an inner diameter-side opening width of each of the pockets becomes smaller than a roller diameter at a position of the opening width in a direction of a rotation axis of each of the tapered rollers at at least a part of an inner diameter side of each of the pockets, and constitute a second engagement allowance in which an outer diameter-side opening width of each of the pockets becomes smaller than the roller diameter at a position of the opening width in the direction at at least a part of an outer diameter side of each of the pockets. The bearing diagnostic system 20 includes: an eddy current tester 11 that measures the impedance X of a certain portion of a bearing 24 before and after the use of the bearing; a bearing information transmitter 30 that transmits bearing information s1 containing the impedance X; and a bearing information receiver 31 that receives the information; a diagnostic section 12 that obtains the residual life information s2 of the bearing 24 based on the received impedance X; and a life information transmitter 36 that transmits the residual life information s2; and a life information receiver 40 that receives the information. Hence, the bearing used by the user can be inspected nondestructively, and the residual life of the bearing can be predicted.

    Abstract: A sealing device for a roll bearing which includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a rolling element rotatably interposed between the outer and inner rings, and a retainer, comprises a seal holder having a seal holder portion and a seal body attached to the seal holder portion. A portion of the retainer is received in a sealing space defined by the seal holder portion while the portion of the retainer is being disposed outside a range of interference with the seal holder portion. The sealing device further comprises conical surfaces 10 and 19 which are provided as fitting surfaces of a seal holder portion 9a and a seal body 17 fit to the seal holder portion 9a. Accordingly, a space 23 into which one end of a retainer of the bearing is receivable can be formed, and the inside diameter d of the seal holder portion 9a can be reduced.

    Abstract: A thrust bearing for use in a rolling mill, having a pair of each of working rolls and stay rolls as well as a mechanism for crossing the rolls, is provided with retainers in which pockets for retaining rolling bodies are arranged in a plurality of rows. Each rolling body, when accommodated in the pocket, has the rotating axis passing substantially the center of swing motions, which makes the bearing appropriate to the swing motions of the rolling mill. Also, centering mechanisms, collar members and stoppers are provided for the retainers, so that malfunctions can be effectively prevented.
