  • Publication number: 20080107086
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a primary and secondary synchronization channel is provided herein. During operation a transmitter will transmit a primary synchronization channel (P-SCH) in a subframe and a secondary synchronization channel (S-SCH) in the subframe. The S-SCH is modulated by a complex exponential wave and scrambled with a scrambling code. In certain embodiments of the present invention the P-SCH comprises a GCL sequence or a Zadoff-Chu sequence and the scrambling code is based on the GCL sequence index of the P-SCH.

  • Publication number: 20070270273
Abstract: Reference sequences are constructed from distinct “classes” of GCL sequences that have an optimal cyclic cross correlation property. The fast cell search method disclosed detects the “class indices” with simple processing. In a system deployment that uniquely maps sequences of certain class indices along with a circular shift amount in time domain to certain cells/cell IDs, the identification of a sequence index, and its circular shift will therefore provide an identification of the cell ID.

  • Patent number: 7286591
Abstract: A synchronizing position detecting circuit includes a window size determining circuit, a synchronizing code generating circuit, a correlation circuit and a synchronizing position determining circuit. The window size determining circuit calculates a moved distance of a mobile station during a sleep time based on a moving speed and the sleep time and selects a window size based on a phase change of a distance signal corresponding to the moved distance. The code generating circuit repeatedly produces a synchronizing code that coincides with a part of a code of the distance signal and successively shifts a phase of the synchronizing code by a predetermined phase width so as to shift the window size. The correlation circuit calculates a correlation function between the synchronizing code and the distance signal. The position determining circuit determines a correlation function having a maximum value to detect the distance signal and outputs a synchronizing position signal representing a detecting position.

  • Publication number: 20070237113
Abstract: The GCL sequence index of each cell/sector is assigned so that a difference of the indices between adjacent cells/sectors is more than N, where N?1. • Publication number: 20070206558
Abstract: A method and apparatus for using both D-FDMA and L-FDMA within a same frequency band is provided herein. The proposed technique scatters the sub-carriers of each D-FDMA user to a frequency band utilized by L-FDMA communications without separating the total band into exclusive D-FDMA and L-FDMA sub-bands. The L-FDMA users are assigned to the gap of the D-FDMA sub-carriers. Therefore, frequency diversity gain of D-FDMA by the proposed method is larger than if D-FDMA and L-FDMA sub-bands were created.

  • Patent number: 7050244
Abstract: A zoom lens barrel comprises an exterior unit, which mainly forms an exterior portion, an optical unit having an image pickup optical system built therein, and a control unit and can be detachably mounted on a single-lens reflex camera. The optical unit includes first and second group lenses as the image pickup optical system, which can move forward and rearward in zooming and focusing, and a third group lens which can move forward and rearward in zooming. Particularly, in focusing, a first group lens holding frame for holding the first group lens and a second group lens holding frame for holding the second group lens are driven forward and rearward in a different amount in an optical axis direction through a cam follower and two cam grooves by driving a focus ring in rotation, thereby focusing is executed. The lens barrel can cope with a forward/rearward movement required in zooming and focusing and can be reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 7020627
Abstract: A plurality of orderers with their own code systems procures materials from companies (supply companies) with which the orderers have business relations. In this material procurement system, a name register master is provided for making correspondence between goods name codes provided by each of the supply companies and material codes of the orderers. When necessary materials are procured from the supply company, the orderer goods name codes are used for specifying the materials. Further, an order processor is provided. The order processor refers to the name register master, and combines orders of the materials with a same orderer goods name, if the same goods name of the supply company is in the name register master. The order processor also divides the orders and orders to another company by referring to the name register master, if the materials in a quantity beyond a predetermined number must be ordered.

  • Publication number: 20060050624
Abstract: To provide high-quality communication even when the power for synchronization preamble is reduced in an OFDM communication device. To achieve symbol synchronization, an OFDM communication device obtains a zero amplitude reduced preamble signal by passing a specified synchronization preamble through an ideal low-pass filter to reduce a signal component near zero amplitude within a time domain, and time-multiplexes the obtained zero amplitude reduced preamble signal with transmit data to generate an OFDM transmit signal. A receiver section of the OFDM communication device determines the cross correlation between a receive signal and a specified synchronization preamble, which is patterned the same as the counterpart in a transmitter section of the OFDM communication device, and detects a synchronization position in accordance with the determined cross correlation.

  • Publication number: 20050141598
Abstract: A MC-CDMA handset has a receiver (30) that estimates SIR based on a spread factor of a pilot channel. More particularly, a spread spectrum signal including a pilot channel and multiple data channels is received. The pilot channel is despread using a spread factor (SF). The SIR for the despread pilot channel is calculated and stored in a memory (34). The SF is then incremented and used to despread the pilot channel again, and this process is repeated for all of SF. The stored SIRs are compared to a threshold value in ascending order of the SFs. The first SIR value to fall below the threshold value is used as the estimated SIR result.
