  • Publication number: 20020165526
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgery apparatus comprising a system for observing an anterior portion of an eye, and an optical system for irradiating a laser beam for treatment to the eye, the apparatus is a corneal surgery apparatus irradiating the laser beam to a cornea and ablating a surface thereof, the apparatus comprising a moving device for moving the optical system relatively against the eye, an illuminating device for illuminating a large area of the anterior portion of the eye, a photoelectric transducing device having a two-dimensional light sensing plane, for sensing distribution of light volume of the anterior portion of the eye, a pupil position sensing device for sensing the position of a pupil, a control device for controlling the moving device based on sensed results, a tracking signal generating device for generating a signal to track movement of the eye, whereby the moving device is controlled by the control device so as to track movement of the eye by inputting a signal generated by the tracking signal g

  • Publication number: 20020049461
Abstract: A vitreous surgical apparatus in which an inner tubular blade is moved in an axis direction with respect to an outer tubular blade by supply and exhaust of compressed air to excise a part of a vitreous body in an eyeball and aspirate and discharge the excised part out of the eyeball, the apparatus including: a plurality of solenoid valves each of which is opened and closed for performing the supply and exhaust of the compressed air; and a control unit which synchronously drives the solenoid valves to open and close in order to move the inner tubular blade at a desired cutting speed.

  • Publication number: 20020002368
Abstract: A medical system capable of giving different treatments in a row to a patient comprises a first treatment apparatus, a second treatment apparatus, an operation unit, a memory, a communication unit and a selection switch. The first treatment apparatus has a first treatment unit for a first treatment and a first control part which sends a control signal to the first treatment unit based on a first setting signal for the first treatment. The second treatment apparatus has a second treatment unit for a second treatment different from the first treatment and a second control part which sends a control signal to the second treatment unit based on a second setting signal for the second treatment. The operation unit has an indication part and an operation part, and is capable of inputting the first and second setting signals at different times, and the two signals are then transmitted to the first and second control parts respectively by the communication unit.

  • Publication number: 20010023331
Abstract: An irrigation/aspiration apparatus for ophthalmic surgery, includes: an irrigation fluid supplying unit, which supplies irrigation fluid into a patient eye; an aspiration unit provided with a hand piece having an aspiration hole, which aspirates through the aspiration hole a removed tissue along with the irrigation fluid supplied into the patient eye; a pressure sensor which detects vacuum pressure caused by the aspiration unit; and a control unit connected to the irrigation fluid supplying unit and the pressure sensor, which varies at least one of irrigation rate and irrigation pressure by controlling the irrigation fluid supplying unit based on the detected vacuum pressure.
