  • Patent number: 5592335
Abstract: A camera lens barrel for a camera includes first, second, third and fourth lens groups with a diaphragm located between the second and third lens groups. The second and third lens groups are connected, while the first, third and fourth lens groups can move relative to each other along the optical axis of the camera lens barrel. A diaphragm driver is positioned radially outside of the second lens group, while a lens shift driver device, including the horizontal and vertical lens shift drivers, is positioned radially outside of the third lens group. The diaphragm driver and the lens shift driver device are connected to a control unit via a flexible printed circuit. A power transmission extends from the diaphragm driver to the fourth lens group. The power transmission is connected to the diaphragm driver via a pin. When the pin is rotated, the angular rotation of a pin is transmitted to the fourth lens group to focus the camera lens barrel. Thus, the overall diameter of the camera lens barrel is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5592249
Abstract: A data imprinting device focusses light emitted from an array of LEDs onto the film, exposing the film as it is fed. A single chip microcomputer controls the LED array to imprint data. Some of the LEDs in the array are always energized together, while others are energized independently. The LEDs which are energized together require only a single control line, thus reducing the number of control lines, and consequently permitting reduction in the size of the camera. The group-wise serial activation of the dot matrix columns slightly staggers the imprinted data, but the imprinted characters are fully recognizable. In addition to reducing the number of control lines, the group-wise serial activation also reduces the peak load on the constant circuit, and thereby reduces the size of this circuit.

  • Patent number: 5591262
Abstract: The invention disclosed defined a vertically extending passage through the rotary center of an inner cup or the rotary center of a spinner in a notary chemical treater, disposes a stationary cleaning fluid nozzle in the passage, and injects the cleaning fluid from the nozzle to clean a lid of the rotary chemical treater and the underside of an object treatment within the treater. The underside of the lid and the underside of the objective part are efficiently cleaned, and the need for sealing the movable parts against the cleaning fluid is eliminated because the nozzle is stationary, ensuring the prevention of the cleaning fluid from leaking.

  • Patent number: 5579066
Abstract: In a camera which is provided with a clock which operates according to electrical power supplied from a battery, the date and time of photography are imprinted based upon the date and time output from the clock. When the changeover of the battery is detected, the recording of the date and time of photography is prevented, and when the date and time of the clock have been reset the prevention of recording of the date and time of photography is ceased.Further, in a camera which is provided with a clock which operates according to electrical power supplied from a battery, and with a display device which alternatively displays either the date and time output from the clock or the film frame number, when the changeover of the battery is detected, forcibly the date and time output from the clock are displayed on the display device.

  • Patent number: 5570149
Abstract: A camera having a photographic optical system contained in a lens barrel including a zoom cam tube and a collapsible mount cam tube. The zoom cam tube is movable in a focal length adjustment region between a Tele position and a Wide position, while the collapsible mount cam tube is movable in a collapsible mount movement region between the Wide position and a fully collapsed position. During focal length adjustment action, a gear which transmits a drive force of a motor is in engagement with a first rack on the zoom cam tube, and only the zoom cam tube rotates. Due to this rotation, a cam portion is rotated via other gears meshed with the first rack, and a pair of viewfinder lenses and a light generating unit, are made movable. During collapsible mount action, the gear is in engagement with a second rack, only the collapsible mount cam tube is rotated, and the drive force of the motor is not transmitted to the cam portion.

  • Patent number: 5559571
Abstract: A shake-prevention mechanism is positioned on a support unit that supports the shake-prevention optical system. A single flexible printed circuit board having connection ends that connect to the various electrical connections is used as the wiring device to interconnect to the various electrical connections in the mechanism in addition to connecting the mechanism to external devices. The connection ends of the flexible printed circuit board are mounted to pinch and/or surround the support unit containing the drive mechanism from the front and back in the direction of the optical axis. Additionally, a base plate and a cover unit are positioned to have a spacing in between, together forming a support unit for supporting a shake-prevention optical system that is part of the shooting lens system. One photo-interrupter is fixed to the base plate that supports the motor, while another photo-interrupter is fixed to the cover unit that presses the motor and is a unit separate from the base plate.

  • Patent number: 5557354
Abstract: A camera with a data imprinting device has a plurality of in-line LEDs producing light focused by an optical system upon a photographic film at a first and a second position, corresponding to a full size format and a panorama size format, respectively. The focused light imprints data images upon the film at the first position are larger than data images imprinted at the second position. The optical system has first and second prisms, with integrated lenses, for reflecting and focusing the light upon the film at the first and second positions, respectively. A shutter plate is selectively positioned over apertures through which the light is focused, thus blocking the light and allowing only a selected imprint to be made upon the film. A vertical pattern of the data image is created by a controller selectively illuminating the in-line LEDs while a horizontal pattern is produced by the controller illuminating the LEDs in coordination with the movement of the film past the apertures.

  • Patent number: 5548361
Abstract: A camera having a data display function maintains a uniform shape of the characters even when several characters are displayed. Even when the resulting characters include gaps, the gaps are uniformly positioned in all of the characters that are displayed. The timing of the start of the data display of each character is linked to one of the front or the back edge of the pulse signal. That is, every character is started at the front edge of the pulse signal, or every character is started at the back edge thereof.

  • Patent number: 5539496
Abstract: A camera having a vibration detection unit to detect the amount of vibration of a camera body and a vibration correction unit to compensate for the amount of vibration detected. The vibration detection unit requires a predetermined amount of time to determine the amount of vibration. If a user desires to take a photograph before the completion of the predetermined amount of time, the photograph will be taken without operation of the vibration correction unit. If the user desires to take a photograph after the completion of the predetermined amount of time, the vibration correction unit corrects for the vibration and, then, the photograph is taken. In addition, while the vibration correction unit is determining the amount of vibration, a display lamp blinks (a first state) and once the vibration detection unit has completed its performance, the display lamp continuously shines (a second state).
