  • Patent number: 7131503
Abstract: An impact driver capable of boring and having an excellent usability is provided. An anvil(8) is arranged so as to slightly move in the axial direction. A first cam(29) having cam gears(30, 30 . . . ) is externally provided at the anvil so as to be integral with the anvil(8). At the rear of the first cam(29), a second cam(31) having cam gears(32, 32 . . . ) and further having cam gears(36, 36 . . . ) at its outer circumference is externally provided to the anvil(8) so as to be rotatable. At the backward position of the anvil(8), the cam gears(30, 32) contacts with each other. On the other hand, in the cylindrical portion(27) of the hammer case(5), an engaging pin(37) capable of engaging with an engaging gear(36) of the second cam(31) is provided. The engaging pin(37) can change its location by the rotative operation of a mode-change ring(40), whereby a percussion mode and a non-percussion mode is selected.

  • Publication number: 20060180327
Abstract: A housing body has a recess. A motor is housed in the housing body at a rear side of the recess. A hammer casing houses a rotatable spindle and an impact mechanism operable to convert the rotation of the spindle into intermittent impact actions in a first direction which is a circumferential direction of the spindle, and has an opened rear end. The hammer casing is mounted in the recess. A disk-shaped member is coupled to the hammer casing so as to close the opened rear end and to rotatably support the spindle. The disk-shaped member has a through hole receiving an output axis of the motor, thereby causing the output axis of the motor to couple with the spindle to transmit a rotation of the motor to rotate the spindle. A first engagement member is formed on an outer face of the disk-shaped member.

  • Patent number: 6725945
Abstract: An impact driver (1) includes a main housing (2) encasing a motor (5); an internal gear case (8) which is secured by screws to the main housing (2) and is provided with an externally threaded portion (12); and a hammer case (13) with an internally threaded portion (14) which is adapted for threadable engagement with the externally threaded portion (12) of the internal gear case (8) so as to couple the hammer case (13) to the internal gear case (8). The impact driver (1) additionally includes a rotation stop mechanism comprised of a rack (24) disposed within a forward extending portion (23) of the main housing (2) for meshing with dimples (27) formed in the outer surface of the hammer case (13). By fixing the rack (24) with a feed screw (26) disposed transversely in the forward extending portion (23), the hammer case (13) is prevented from rotation with respect to the internal gear case (8) after assembly of the impact driver (1).
