  • Patent number: 8414020
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to ensure smooth deployment of an airbag having a turned-back end portion. The present invention is an airbag device that expands and deploys in a curtain shape on a side portion of a vehicle interior in order to protect an occupant of the vehicle interior, where the airbag includes a gas generator for generating an expansion gas and an airbag that deploys when it is expanded by the gas supplied from the gas generator. The airbag is compressed into an elongated shape when stowed and an end portion of the elongated airbag is turned back in a lengthwise direction, thereby forming an airbag main portion that is not turned back and the turned-back end portion. A restricting member is also provided to restrict deployment of the turned-back end portion of the airbag toward a vehicle outer side when the device is activated.

  • Patent number: 8404399
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fuel cell including: a membrane electrode assembly (2) having a fuel electrode (13), an air electrode (16), and an electrolyte membrane (17) sandwiched therebetween; and a fuel storage unit (4) storing a liquid fuel. The fuel cell is capable of continuously generating electricity for long hours only by being replenished with a fuel, and therefore, attempts have been made to miniaturize the fuel cell to use it as a power source of portable electronic devices. When the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel storage unit in the fuel cell are connected via a flow path, a fuel supply state becomes uneven depending on the shape and the like of the flow path even though a supply amount of the fuel can be adjusted, which causes a problem such as a decrease in an output of the fuel cell.

  • Patent number: 8338272
Abstract: A wafer is mounted on the top surface of the stage having an electrostatic chuck function, and the wafer at 50° C. or more is cooled to a temperature lower than 50° C. In this step, the voltage to be applied to the internal electrode provided in the stage is raised stepwise to gradually increase the contact area between the back surface of the wafer and the top surface of the stage. Finally, a chuck voltage is applied to the internal electrode, so that the entire back surface of the wafer is uniformly attracted to the top surface of the stage. This reduces damage occurring in the top surface of the stage due to rubbing between the back surface of the wafer and the top surface of the stage.

  • Patent number: 8281089
Abstract: Upon starting the initial copy process, a pair creation command is issued from a primary disk subsystem to a secondary disk subsystem. The secondary disk subsystem sets a target area of a second disk drive to an unwritten status, and thereafter writes update data that was updated in a primary site into a designated area of the second disk drive. Subsequently, when data of a first disk drive is backed up to an external medium, the external memory medium is transported to a secondary site, and then connected to a host computer. Unwritten data among the backup data recorded in the external memory medium is thereafter restored to the first disk drive, and the initial copy is completed on the condition that all data in the first disk drive has been copied to the second disk drive.

  • Publication number: 20120231361
Abstract: A fuel cell has a fuel cell main body, a fuel supply unit, a voltage sensor, a supply speed determining unit, a fuel supply control unit, and a connecting unit. The voltage sensor measures the open-circuit voltage of the fuel cell main body. The supply speed determining unit determines the fuel supply speed of the fuel supply unit, on the basis of the results obtained from the measurement performed by the voltage sensor, in the case where the voltage measured by the voltage sensor is smaller than a predetermined value. The fuel supply control unit controls, on the basis of the supply speed thus determined, the fuel supply from the fuel supply unit. The connecting unit connects a load to the fuel cell main body, in the case where the voltage measured by the voltage sensor is larger than the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 8159180
Abstract: A battery charging device of the present invention has a rectifier portion that is formed by switching elements, and performs advance angle/delay angle control. An advance angle/delay angle amount in the advance angle/delay angle control is determined based on a differential voltage between the voltage of a battery and a predetermined target voltage. In this case, when a determined delay angle amount exceeds a delay angle limit value, delay angle control is performed using the delay angle limit value. Moreover, the power generation amount of an alternating current generator is detected, and the delay angle amount and power generation amount are stored. If the current delay angle amount is greater than the previous delay angle amount, and the previous power generation amount is greater than the current power generation amount, then the previous delay angle amount is set as the delay angle limit value.
