  • Patent number: 5371324
Abstract: A ribbon cable which is light weight, noncorrosive and exhibits excellent electrical conductivity properties. The cable includes a plurality of conductors, each composed of exfoliated graphite, which are arranged to extend parallel to each other and are sheathed with an electrical insulative material molded of a synthetic resin. In another embodiment, a conductor composed of exfoliated graphite and metallic conductors, each having an elongated rectangular cross-sectional shape, are arranged to extend parallel to each other. The conductors are sandwiched between opposing sheets of synthetic resin which are adhered to each other.

  • Patent number: 5300553
Abstract: A method of producing electrically conductive composite. Powdery graphite intercalated compound is dry-mixed with powdery thermosetting plastics to produce a powdery mixture of composition, and then the powdery mixture is compressed, while being heated, to become an electrically conductive composite.

  • Patent number: 5171938
Abstract: A shield wire comprising: a conductor, an insulation layer provided around an outer periphery of the conductor; an electrically-conductive resin layer provided around an outer periphery of the insulation layer; a covering insulation layer formed around an outer periphery of the electrically-conductive resin layer; and shield device for shielding the shield cable from electromagnetic interference, the means formed to electrically contact the electrically-conductive resin layer.

  • Patent number: 5151261
Abstract: The method of producing bromine-processed graphite fibers comprises preparing gas phase grown carbon fibers by bringing a substrate carrying thereon ultrafine particles of metal catalyst into contact with hydrocarbon compound under a high temperature, graphitizing the thus obtained fibers to obtain graphite fibers having such a crystal structure as carbon hexagonal network face is substantially in parallel with the axis of fibers and is oriented coaxially, and then bringing the thus obtained graphite fibers and bromine at a temperature lower than 60.degree. C. and for a time at least for 10 min.. In this case, the specific value for the length of the repeat distance along the c axis direction in the crystals is within a range from 10 to 40 .ANG..

  • Patent number: 5106606
Abstract: Fluorinated graphite fibers comprising an intercalated compound of graphite fibers, having a three-dimensional crystal structure in which carbon hexagonal network faces are substantially in parallel with the axis of the fibers, and are oriented in a coaxial manner, and fluorine, wherein the length of repeating periods in the direction of the C-axis of the crystals coexist within a range from 5 to 24 .ANG..

  • Patent number: 4701662
Abstract: A spark plug having a porcelain insulator affixed with a bushing of a rubber, an oil-impregnated rubber or a thermosetting elastomer such as a silicone resin. The spark plug is connected to an ignition system by a spark plug connecting structure including a plug terminal attached to the extremity of a high-tension resistance cord so as to seize the electrode of the spark plug, and a plug cap covering the free end portion of the high-tension resistance cord and, the plug terminal. In connecting the spark plug to the ignition system, the plug cap is fitted tightly over the bushing so that the porcelain insulator and the electrode of the spark plug, and the plug terminal are sealed perfectly.
