  • Publication number: 20120261262
Abstract: A vessel in which an electroconductive liquid including impurities is stored has an electromagnetic force generation device which produces an electromagnetic force that circulates the electroconductive liquid in the electroconductive liquid, and a discharge device which discharges a non-metallic impurity and a deemed non-metallic impurity and collected in a low-pressure portion based on a pressure difference in the electroconductive liquid produced by the electromagnetic force. The non-metallic impurity and the deemed non-metallic impurity are collected in the low-pressure portion, e.g., a liquid level to be separated by the electromagnetic force.

  • Patent number: 8216454
Abstract: An apparatus comprising at least vessel (2) for stocking conductive liquid (1) containing impurities; electromagnetic force generator (3) for generating electromagnetic force (F) capable of circulating the conductive liquid (1) in the conductive liquid (1); and discharging unit (4) for discharging nonmetallic impurities and deemed nonmetallic impurities (21a,21b) accumulated in low-pressure region (1a) by a pressure difference in conductive liquid (1) induced by the electromagnetic force (F), so that by the electromagnetic force (F), any nonmetallic impurities (21a) and deemed nonmetallic impurities (21b) are driven to the low-pressure region (1a), for example, liquid surface and separated.

  • Patent number: 8016087
Abstract: In a fluid damper that autonomously changes a damping force in accordance with movement of a piston, the fluid damper having: a fluid 8 having magnetic properties; a piston 2 formed of a magnetic material; a cylinder 3 that encapsulates the fluid 8 having magnetic properties and accommodates the piston 2; a piston rod 4 that pierces the cylinder 3 to support the piston 2; a magnetic field generation device 6 provided outside the cylinder 3; a first yoke 5 arranged around the cylinder 3; and a second yoke 7 arranged around the piston rod 4 outside the cylinder 3, a magnetic circuit is partially formed.

  • Patent number: 7972556
Abstract: An electromagnetic stirring apparatus includes a vessel (2) for containing an electroconductive material in a molten state, such as a molten metal (1); an axially traveling magnetic field generating coil (3) for generating magnetic line of force (15) in an axial direction of the vessel (2) towards the molten metal (1) contained in the vessel (2) from an outside of the vessel (2); and a strip-shaped magnetic plate (4) disposed between the coil (3) and the vessel (2). Portions (11) where an axial electromagnetic force is generated in the molten metal contained in the vessel by the coil (3), and portions (10) into which a magnetic field is prevented by the magnetic plate (4) from locally entering, are formed in the vessel (2), whereby a circumferential pressure gradient is generated.

  • Patent number: 7942067
Abstract: A method achieving a small spatial restriction and capable of simply measuring with high precision a flow rate of a conductive fluid of an electromagnetic pump is provided. In particular, the method is suitable in measuring a flow amount of each electromagnetic pump in an electromagnetic pump unit where a plurality of electromagnetic pumps are arranged in parallel in one pump vessel.
