  • Patent number: 6639880
Abstract: An apparatus for recording and/or reproducing a disc-shaped recording medium. A medium is placed on each of a plurality of placement members. The members are stacked and housed in a housing unit. An elevating mechanism elevates the housing unit in the direction almost parallel to the stack direction of the members. A carrying mechanism carries one of the members among a position where a medium can be placed or ejected to/from the member, a position where the member is housed in the housing unit and a position where the medium placed on the member is loaded to the recording and/or reproducing unit. A driving source drives both the carrying mechanism and the elevating mechanism. A switching mechanism selectively supplies a driving force from the driving source to the carrying mechanism and the elevating mechanism. A photodetector detects the presence/absence of the medium on the members in the housing unit.

  • Patent number: 6584063
Abstract: An apparatus for recording and/or reproducing a medium includes an elevating mechanism elevating a housing unit in which members are stacked and stored. A carrying mechanism carries at least one of the members between a position where the member is housed in the housing unit and a position where a medium on the member is loaded to a recording and/or reproducing unit. A driving source drives both the carrying mechanism and the elevating mechanism. A switching mechanism selectively supplies a driving force from the driving source to the carrying and elevating mechanisms. A rack part is formed in the member. The carrying mechanism includes a feed gear and an arm. The feed gear comes into engagement with the rack part and is rotatably attached to the arm. The switching mechanism swings the arm so that the feed gear is disengaged from the rack part when the elevating mechanism is driven.

  • Patent number: 5149492
Abstract: A reactor containment vessel with a cooling system includes a communication pipe having a valve to be connected to either an emergency condenser or suppression chamber in order to improve cooling performance by removing non-condensable gas from heat exchanger tubes when a main steam line is broken. One open end of the communication pipe is opened and positioned at a low position of the dry well. The valve is constantly closed and actuated to be opened in an abnormal condition of a reactor. When the valve is opened, the communication pipe introduces the non-condensable gas existing in the emergency condenser or suppression chamber to the low area of the dry well due to a density differential between steam and non-condensable gas, thus removing the non-condensable gas from the heat exchanger tubes, and improving the cooling performance of the emergency condenser.

  • Patent number: 4901666
Abstract: A cover for forming a space for coating is provided above an electroconductive belt conveyor for adjusting an electric field at an end portion of a flat plate-like object to be coated, electrostatic powder coating guns pointed at the object to be coated on the belt conveyor in the space for coating are provided, and means for introducing air into the space for coating and means for exhausting the air are respectively provided. As a result, the strength of the electric field formed from the electrostatic powder coating guns to the electroconductive belt conveyor and the object to be coated is made uniform through their entire surface so that the thickness of a powder layer to be adhered to the object to be coated is made uniform from its central portion to an end portion. Consequently, the waste of the powder coating material is prevented, and local cracks in a portion having a great thickness generated when the coated object is bent are prevented.
