    Abstract: The applicants have discovered that by simultaneously administering particular combinations of drugs at particular dosage levels by means of a transdermal delivery system, anesthesia may be induced in patients requiring such treatment. It has been found that profound sedation or an analgesic effect may be produced by means of a particular combination of pharmacologic agents which are administered simultaneously by transdermal administration. A patch system has been devised which is useful for reversing anesthesia.

    Abstract: A method for forming decorative creases in a trim cover assembly for an automotive seat, which basically involves using one unitary sheet of base trim cover assembly and effecting a gather sewing to such base trim cover assembly so that at least one decorative crease is formed therein in a fashion developing symmetrically relative to the sewing direction. The resulting decorative crease may be deepened for more aesthetic effect by pinching and sewing a part of reverse side of the trim cover assembly corresponding to the crease, along the sewing direction. Also, an automotive seat with the trim cover assembly made by such method.

    Abstract: A lumbar support device for an automotive seat, which comprises a drive mechanism, a crank-like rod operatively connected to the drive mechanism, an elastic synthetic resin support plate, the upper part of which is movably secured to a seat back frame within a seat back of the seat, and a lumbar support portion defined in the lower part of the support plate. The lumbar support portion is formed in a cambered or forwardly curved shape. A forward and backward displacement of the support plate may be ajustably effected by the drive mechanism and crank-like rod to apply a pressure against the lumbar support area of foam cushion member of the seat back, and because of integral formation of both support plate and lumbar support portion, a gradual pressure gradient or distribution may be attained in the seat back cushion member, without creating a local non-pressure or extremely soft spot therein.

    Abstract: A packing material for a liquid chromatograph is provided particularly to be used for separating polycyclic aromatic compounds. The packing material is prepared by treating a base material of the packing material with a coupling agent of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Aro is an aromatic moiety, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, lower alkoxy group, or halogen atom, R.sup.3 is a lower alkoxy group or halogen atom. Since an aromatic moiety within one molecule is immobilized through many functional groups on the surface of the base material, the packing material has stable and excellent separating properties.

    Abstract: A cover for a slide rail of an automotive seat, which comprises a first cover section for covering the rearward end portion of slide rail and a second cover section for covering a support leg member which support the slide rail, both of which two cover sections are integrally formed together. The first cover section covers the rearward end portion of slide rail at such a length that extends over a movable raige in which an upper rail of the slide rail moves relative to lower rail thereof. An opening is formed in the cover for permitting the upper rail to pass therethrough without inteference and alid plate is provided to normally close such opening but permit for opening the same when the upper rail is moved therethrough.

    Abstract: A vertical adjustment device for adjusting the height of a headrest for use in a vehicle seat is disclosed, which comprises two outer slides respectively erected above a seat back, two inner slides respectively provided on either sides of the headrest to be inserted into the respective outer slides in a vertically slidable manner, and two stoppers each provided in the lower end portion of each of the outer slides to prevent the inner slide from slipping off downwardly. A shock absorbing member is provided over the upper opening of the outer slide.
