Abstract: Example implementations described herein are directed to systems and methods to manage log data that is stored to a storage system. In example implementations, received log data is classified for storage into a storage system having a high tier storage and a low tier storage. For the classification indicative of storage into the high tier storage of the storage system, the storage system stores the log data into the high tier storage, and moves related log data stored in the low tier storage to the high tier storage. For the classification indicative of storage into the low tier storage of the storage system, the storage system stores the log data into the low tier storage and moves the related log data stored in the high tier storage to the low tier storage.

  • Patent number: 10817205
Abstract: Processing efficiency of a computer using a volume and processing efficiency of another computer using another volume corresponding to the volume can be maintained at high levels. In a computer system, a storage apparatus is able to provide a certain volume to a computer, and another storage apparatus provides data to the computer by causing a virtualization function to point to another volume from the certain volume and copying data from the other volume to the certain volume. An upper limit on the number of pages copiable from the other volume to the certain volume of the storage apparatus is set. A CPU of the other storage apparatus copies data in an amount equal to or smaller than the upper limit from a page among multiple pages of the other volume to a storage region corresponding to a page forming the certain volume of the storage apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20200326864
Abstract: Even though storage systems are different in types, storage pools in a plurality of storage systems are integrated, and a storage volume is created in a suited storage pool corresponding to a storage requirements. In an information system where a plurality of storage systems (a disk array, an SDS system, and an HCI system) is present, when creating the storage volume using requested storage requirements as parameters, a storage management server selects a storage pool that satisfies the storage requirements based on comparison of the storage requirements and characteristic information held in first management information (a storage pool management table), the server creates the storage volume in the selected storage pool, and the server adds an entry relating to the created storage volume to second management information (a volume management table).
