  • Patent number: 7248328
Abstract: An IPS (In-Plane-Switching) liquid crystal display panel has column spacers for spacing an active matrix substrate structure from a counter substrate structure, and liquid crystal fills the gap therebetween, wherein the ratio of total contact area between the column spacers and the active matrix substrate structure to the total area occupied by the pixels is fallen within the range from 0.050 percent to 0.150 percent so as to prevent the liquid crystal display panel from irregularity of brightness by keeping the gap constant.

  • Patent number: 6549260
Abstract: In an active matrix liquid crystal display device of a latitudinal electric field type, i.e., of an In-Plane-Switching type, a protruded spacer is formed on one of a color filter substrate and a TFT substrate, and the spacer is positioned only at a location over a common electrode wire or over a portion of a pixel electrode extended over a gate electrode wire, to thereby reduce the occurrence of a long-term afterimage phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 6459468
Abstract: Spacers are disposed at only positions corresponding to positions of pixels of one of the color layers, thereby widening the spacing at which the substrates are supported, the planar spacing between the spacers being widened to 5 pixels in the horizontal direction and 3 pixels in the vertical direction, thereby causing the substrates to flex so as to track a dimensional change in the gap that accompanies a temperature change in the liquid crystal between the substrates.

  • Patent number: 6435570
Abstract: A resin pipe joint comprising a tapered flare portion (10a) formed on a pipe (10), an inclined portion (11a) formed internally of a joint body (11), an annular member (12) having inner peripheral surface fitted on the pipe (10) and the outer peripheral surface inserted in the joint body and formed at the end with a tapered chamfered portion (12a), and a pipe clamping member (13) threadedly fitted to the joint body (11). The pipe clamping member (13) being threadedly fitted to the joint body causes the chamfered portion (12a) of the annular member to pressure-contact the flare portion (10a) of the pipe and the flare portion of the pipe to pressure-contact the inclined portion in the interior of the joint body, whereby the clamping force can be concentrated on the flare portion of the pipe, so that a high sealing capability between the pipe and the joint body is obtained.
