    Abstract: A process to use coated beads-shaped activated carbon as an adsorbent in purification of the blood is disclosed. The absorbent is prepared by coating a beads-shaped activated carbon with a film-forming material. The coated beads-shaped activated carbon exhibits excellent properties with regard to the amount of the free carbon dusts, the ash to be dissolved out, the residual solvent, the degree of coagulation of the blood, and high safety, as compared with the conventional adsorbents.
