    Abstract: A permanent-magnet type brushless motor has a rotor which is made by integrally forming a rotating magnetic pole comprising a cylindrical multi-pole anisotropic magnet, a shaft and an elastic insulating supporting member having rigidity lower than at least that of the shaft. The multi-pole anisotropic magnet causes its magnetic flux to flow to form the closed magnetic circuit, thereby eliminating the necessity of forming the closed magnetic circuit using an inner stator core in the magnet required for the radial anisotropic magnet.     Abstract: When an electromagnetic coil receives an electric supply, a stationary core, a yoke, and a movable core form a magnetic circuit. The movable core is attracted to a side of the stationary core against the force provided by a return spring member. A fuel passage for injection of fuel is then opened. Axial direction stepwise differences are formed on the movable core. One end face of the stationary core opposes the stepwise difference through a first gap. A projection portion of the yoke is provided toward an inner side of the yoke. This projection portion opposes a position of a side to provide an axial direction magnetic attraction through a second gap. By the provision of the first and second gaps, plural axial direction magnetic attraction gaps are formed and become a part of the magnetic circuit. By increasing a magnetic attraction efficiency of the movable core, an improvement in performance of a fuel injector and a fuel injector having a compact size and a light weight structure can be attained.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch includes a pair of rotatable driving and driven members adapted to be electromagnetically coupled together and uncoupled from each other. At least one of the driving and driven members comprises a pair of concentric annular members both made of magnetizable material and having opposed and radially spaced peripheral surfaces in which annular grooves are formed, respectively. An annular bond member of a non-magnetizable material is swaged into the annular space between the annular magnetizable members and thus into the annular grooves to mechanically connect the magnetizable members as well as to magnetically disconnect them from each other.

    Abstract: In a method of joining two metal members by forming an annular groove at least on one of the two metal members to be joined and causing part of the material of the metal member to flow into the annular groove by plastic deformation to form a joint, at least one annular angled member is formed in the annular groove. The annular angled member extending the entire periphery of the annular groove is substantially triangular in axial cross-sectional shape. The joint has increased strength and can be formed with reduced pressure.

    Abstract: A rotary electric machine rotor comprises a rotary shaft which is formed with a plurality of protuberances projecting beyond a basic circle and extending in a lengthwise direction, and a core which is made of a plurality of core segments smaller in deformation resistance than that of the rotary shaft. The rotary shaft is plastically pressed into the core and has an annular groove formed at a position of the rotary shaft somewhat inward of an end face of the core. The core is plastically deformed and a part of the core is filled fully in the annular groove while axially pressing the core.

    Abstract: A joining structure comprises a shaft made of metal and a disc of metal more reducible than the shaft. The shaft has arcuate walls defined by a basic circle, and a plurality of projections each projecting from the basic circle and extending along the axis of the basic circle. The projections are spaced from each other so that the arcuate walls are disposed all between the projections. The disc has a hole of the same diameter as the basic circle. The shaft is forcedly inserted into the hole of the disc so that the projections cut into the disc to be rigidly joined to the disc with high concentricity between the shaft and the hole.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for coupling two metallic members such as a shaft and a disc. The method includes forming an annular groove on a joint face or outer circumference of the metallic member having greater deformation resistance of the two members, for example, forming uneven portions on the bottom of the groove by knurling or the like. Working the other metallic member, for example, the disc; having smaller deformation resistance near its joint face so that the joint face opposing that of the other causes plastic deformation. Causing a part of the disc to fluidize and flow into the groove, thereby coupling both metallic members together.

    Abstract: A joining construction between a flywheel of a flywheel magneto and a boss for mounting thereon a shaft comprises a joining portion formed on the periphery of the boss, and a joining portion of the flywheel surrounding the periphery of the boss. The joining portion of boss has an annular groove defined by a rugged bottom and both sides one of which is inclined along metal flow. The joining portion of the flywheel has the same shaped groove as one of the boss. Two the joining portions define an annular gap in which a joining member is disposed deformed by pressworking. The joining member inserted into the annular gap has the same shearing strength as the flywheel when an axial force is applied to the flywheel magneto.

The outer cylindrical wall is tapering in going from the bottom wall toward the upper end, and the inner cylindrical wall has a constant thickness lower portion of a predetermined height contiguous with the bottom wall and a tapering portion contiguous with the constant thickness lower portion and having its thickness successively reduced in going toward the upper end. The inner cylindrical wall has an annular groove formed on its inner circumferential surface in its constant thickness lower portion.

    Abstract: A method for connecting two members to be connected comprises following steps. At first, a circumferential groove is formed on the connecting surfaces of the members to be connected. Secondly, axial recesses are formed on the inner surface of the groove. Thirdly, a connecting member is placed between the members to be connected. The connecting member is made of a material which has a smaller resistance against deformation than the members to be connected has and which has a required mechanical strength. Lastly, the connecting member is pressed and plastically deformed, resulting in that the connecting member flows into the groove and the recesses.
