  • Patent number: 4294933
Abstract: In the production of a heterogeneous ion exchange membrane in which an ion exchange resin fine powder is dispersed in a thermoplastic resin, a silane-modified polyolefin resin and ion exchange resin fine powder are kneaded, extruded to form a membrane and then subjected to a treatment with hot water, thus obtaining an ion exchange membrane having a high ion transport number in a high ion concentration and a low specific resistance in an aqueous solution of a polyvalent ion salt, which is well balanced.
