  • Patent number: 9927823
Abstract: A power supply control circuit includes a plurality of ports, and a plurality of power supply units that each turn on and off the power supply from the power source to the load connected to the port. The power supply control circuit also includes an identification information acquisition unit, a sequence information storage unit, and a switch control unit. The identification information acquisition unit acquires identification information from the loads connected to the respective ports. The sequence information storage unit stores therein power-up sequence information and power-down sequence information specified for each of the loads. The switch control unit causes the power supply unit to turn on and off the power supply to the load corresponding to the identification information, according to the power-up sequence information and the power-down sequence information specified for the load.

  • Patent number: 9712706
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for performing image formation based on image data on a print job to output a printed matter includes a blank sheet detecting unit, a blank sheet processing unit and a blank sheet display unit. The blank sheet detecting unit determines whether the image data in the print job is blank sheet image data or non-blank sheet image data by each piece of image data. The blank sheet processing unit detects an order of the determined blank sheet image data and outputs a blank sheet corresponding to the blank sheet image data such that the blank sheet is displaced with respect to a printed matter corresponding to the non-blank sheet image data by a predetermined amount. The blank sheet display unit displays an order of blank sheet among the orders of the printed matters.

  • Patent number: 8976399
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is connected to a plurality of external apparatuses. A job reception portion receives from each of the external apparatuses request to execute print job for forming image on paper sheet. A print control portion causes image forming portion to form image on paper sheet based on the print job received by the job reception portion, and causes discharge portion to discharge to paper sheet discharge portion the paper sheet on which the image has been formed by the image forming portion based on the print job. A collection determination portion, after the person detection portion has detected the presence of person, when person detection portion has not detected the presence of person and discharge detection portion has not detected the presence of paper sheet, determines that all paper sheets discharged to the paper sheet discharge portion have been collected.

  • Patent number: 5253030
Abstract: Near a discharge device (48) for discharging paper (P) with an image formed thereon, there is provided a punch (7) for punching holes. The drive of the discharge device (48) is controlled so that the punch punches the punch holes in the trailing portion of the paper (P), without causing creasing or tearing or change in the quality of the paper (P). The punch (7) includes punching cutters (72) and a punching die (74). The punching cutters (72) and the punching die (74) are provided in a unit (U) which can be drawn out of a casing (1) covering the punch (7). With the unit (U) drawn out of the casing (1), jam recovery can be easily executed. The unit (U) is movable in the width direction of the paper (P), thereby making it possible to adjust the position of punched holes. A collecting box (76) for collecting paper scraps (P1) is disposed in the unit (U). If the collecting box (76) is pivoted or the opening (76a) thereof is lifted up when the unit (U) is pivoted, the paper scraps (P1) therein will not fall out.

  • Patent number: 5168286
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a main body with an opening portion provided in one face of the main body, and a thermal transfer printer. The thermal transfer printer records desired information additively on paper on which a toner image has been fixed. The printer uses a thermal head to press an ink-ribbon on the paper. The thermal transfer printer includes a casing in which a cassette for housing the ink-ribbon is detachably mounted, a thermal head support for supporting the thermal head, and an interlocking mechanism. The interlocking mechanism retracts the thermal head with the thermal head support in response to retraction of the casing. Thus, it is possible to detach the cassette from the main body through the opening portion. This facilitates replacement of cassettes and clearing of paper jams.
