  • Patent number: 7110699
Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a sheet affixed at one edge portion and including a flat surface in the other edge portion. The flat surface is formed with a plurality of grooves each extending over the image forming range of a photoconductive drum perpendicularly to the direction in which the surface of the drum moves. The sheet is deformed such that the flat portion contacts the surface of the drum. In this condition, the downstream edges of the grooves in the above direction shave off the surface of the drum a plurality of times during one rotation of the drum, thereby obviating filming on the drum.

  • Patent number: 6976335
Abstract: Vehicle window pane (16) has an arcuately curved vertical section having a single or same radius of curvature (R1) and a curved lateral section having a single radius of curvature (R2) or a compound radius of curvature. The single radius of curvature (R1) in the curved vertical section and the single radius of curvature (R2) and the compound radius of curvature in the curved lateral section are chosen to differ from each other. The vehicle window pane (16) constitutes a bidirectionally curved pane, which is neither a spherically curved pane (because the radii of curvature in the vertical and lateral sections are not equal to each other) nor a cylindrically curved pane (because both of the radii of curvature in the vertical and lateral sections are not infinite). With this arrangement, the vehicle window pane can significantly improve an aesthetic appeal of a motor vehicle employing the window pane.

  • Publication number: 20050268661
Abstract: A method for manufactuing a curved glass plate includes the steps of mounting a single glass plate blank heated to a deformable temperature in a heating furnace on a lower mold configured for supporting a lower face peripheral edge of the glass plate blank outside the heating furnace, pressing a curvature forming upper mold which bulges downwardly against an upper face of the glass plate to form a curvature in the glass plate and coolign the curved glass plate as being mounted on the lower mold by natural cooling or near-natural cooling, thereby to obtain the curved glass plate as a final product. During the step of cooling the glass plate on the lower mold, the lower mold is heated whereas an inner portion of the lower face of the glass plate adjacent the portion of the glass plate placed in contact with the lower mold is forcibly cooled.
