  • Patent number: 10574017
Abstract: An object is to be able to inexpensively manufacture a holder that holds a connector for inserting a terminal. A terminal insertion device inserts a terminal into a cavity formed in a connector. The terminal insertion device includes: a holder in which a holding recess is formed; a push mechanism that pushes the connector held inside the holding recess so as to protrude from the opening; a positioning portion that receives and positions the connector at a position forward of the opening; and a terminal insertion mechanism that inserts the terminal into the cavity of the connector positioned by the positioning portion.

  • Publication number: 20160352059
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to prevent breakage of a connector and a terminal when the terminal is inserted into a cavity of the connector. A terminal insertion device inserts a terminal at an end of a terminal-attached electric wire into a cavity of a connector. An insertion wire end holding unit (fourth clamping unit) is advanced toward the cavity in order to insert the terminal at the end of the terminal-attached electric wire held by the wire end holding unit into the cavity of the connector, and it is determined whether or not there is an abnormality in the entry when the terminal enters the cavity. If it is determined that there is an abnormality in the entry of the terminal, the advancing of the insertion wire end holding unit is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20160329675
Abstract: An electric wire processing device includes: a wire end holding unit; a movement wire end holding unit for holding a portion of an end of a terminal-attached electric wire that is not included in the portion held by the wire end holding unit; a wire end moving mechanism for moving the movement wire end holding unit between a position at which the movement wire end holding unit can hold the end of the terminal-attached electric wire held by the wire end holding unit, and another position; and a terminal correcting unit. The terminal correcting unit pinches the terminal at the end of the terminal-attached electric wire held by the wire end holding unit so that the orientation of the terminal is corrected to a predetermined orientation when the end of the terminal-attached electric wire is transferred from the end holding unit to the movement wire end holding unit.

  • Publication number: 20160294143
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to enable a terminal to be inserted into a cavity of a connector more reliably. A terminal insertion device inserts a terminal at an end of a terminal-attached electric wire into a cavity of a connector. An insertion wire end holding unit (fourth clamping unit) is advanced toward the cavity in order to insert a front end portion of the terminal at the end of the terminal-attached electric wire held by the wire end holding unit into the cavity of the connector, and it is determined whether or not the front end portion of the terminal has entered the cavity. If it is determined that the front end portion of the terminal has not entered the cavity, the insertion wire end holding unit is retracted away from the cavity, and then the insertion wire end holding unit is again advanced toward the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20160211056
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a device and a method suited to allow a step of inserting terminals of a plurality of terminal-attached electric wires respectively into cavities of a plurality of connectors to be performed as a single integrated process in units of one wire harness set or one sub wire harness set. An electric wire arranging member conveying mechanism detachably holds and moves an electric wire arranging member in which a plurality of electric wire fastening portions are arranged in one line, along a direction in which the electric wire fastening portions are lined up, thereby selectively positioning the individual electric wire fastening portions at a predetermined start position. A connector arranging member conveying mechanism detachably holds and moves a connector arranging member supporting the plurality of connectors, thereby selectively positioning the individual cavities of the connectors at a predetermined end position.

  • Publication number: 20160203890
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to prevent insertion failures of terminals into cavities of connectors even in a case where the arrangement positions of end portions of terminal-attached electric wires vary to some extent. A first gripping portion for gripping an end region of each of the terminal-attached electric wires further moves by a predetermined distance from a point where an optical sensor has detected the terminal during movement along a straight route in a first direction. A second gripping portion grips the end region in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, thereby taking over support of the terminal-attached electric wire from the first gripping portion. A third gripping portion grips the terminal from both sides in a third direction orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction, thereby temporarily taking over support of the terminal from the second gripping portion.
