  • Patent number: 9227745
Abstract: A bag making and packaging machine forms a first transverse seal portion in a packaging material formed in a tubular shape, fills the packaging material with articles, thereafter further forms a second transverse seal portion to make a bag, and allows the bag to fall, and is equipped with a vibrating mechanism. The first transverse seal portion is formed in a direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of the packaging material. The vibrating mechanism tilts the packaging material to an outer side of a fall path of the bag and vibrates the packaging material after the packaging material has been filled with the articles and before the second transverse seal portion is formed.

  • Publication number: 20150021103
Abstract: A combination weighing device includes a dispersing table, a plurality of radial feeders, a plurality of cameras, an image processing unit, and a touch panel. The dispersing table receives a supply of a large number of articles and disperses the articles. The radial feeders are arranged to extend radially from the dispersing table, receive the articles dispersed by the dispersing table, and convey the articles in a direction away from the dispersing table. The cameras are disposed at a position other than a space directly above the dispersing unit and capture images of the dispersing table and the radial feeders. The image processing unit generates a projection plan view image of the dispersing table and the radial feeders by synthesizing the images captured by the cameras. The touch panel outputs the plan view image.

  • Publication number: 20120285129
Abstract: A form-fill-seal machine has a forming structure, a vertical seal structure, and a clamp fixing mechanism. The forming structure has a support frame, a tube, a sailor collar-shaped unit, and an anvil. The tube is fixed to the support frame. The sailor collar-shaped unit is fixed to the support frame, and wraps a sheet-shaped film around the tube so that two ends thereof overlap. The anvil is fixed to the tube. The vertical seal structure has an oscillator. The oscillator generates ultrasonic waves in order to seal overlapping portions of two ends of the film, being conveyed through the intervening gap with the anvil, in a vertical direction. The clamp fixing mechanism fixes the forming structure and the vertical seal structure in fixed positions relative to one another.

  • Publication number: 20120204522
Abstract: An article transfer device includes a funnel-shaped structure and a high pressure air supply pipe. The funnel-shaped structure has an upper end opening adapted to receive articles dropped from above and a lower end opening adapted direct the articles to a form-fill-seal machine. An inner space is defined within the funnel-shaped structure between the openings. The upper part of the inner space has a greater cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the lower part of the inner space. A plurality of air ejection holes are formed in an inner peripheral surface of the funnel-shaped structure surrounding the inner space. The air ejection holes are arranged with respect to one another defining a helical shape pattern about the funnel-shaped structure. Gaseous material is spouted out from the high pressure air supply pipe and into the inner space through the plurality of air ejection holes.

  • Publication number: 20120204515
Abstract: In a packaging machine, a pair of shutter members holds a tubular film therebetween and shake the tubular film. Articles on an upstream side of the shutter members within the tubular film therefore aggregate toward the side of the shutter members while the vibration of the shutter members causes the gaps between the packaged articles to be filled. Since the packaged articles aggregate by inertia due to the vibration, fragmentation thereof is less likely than in a case in which the packaged articles are compressed by direct contact. Merely by the movement of rollers on a waved surface of a shutter cam, the shutter members are shaken in accordance with the waved surface.

  • Publication number: 20120204514
Abstract: A packaging machine includes a pair of brushes that hold a tubular film (Fm) therebetween while rotating and impeding the advancement of packaged articles. Consequently, an elongated stream of packaged articles aggregate at the leading end of the pair of brushes. When the pair of brushes release the tubular film, the packaged articles are again conveyed in a more closely aggregated state than the aggregated state thereof when the advancement of the packaged articles was temporarily impeded. The rotational axis of each brush is also biased a predetermined distance from the central axis of a core thereof. Since the brushes swing in conjunction with the rotation thereof, small vibrations and large swings cause the gaps between packaged articles to be readily filled and reduce the space occupied by the packaged articles. As a result, the bag size can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060117713
Abstract: When replacing film rolls, a film holding mechanism fixedly holds a film of a pre-replacement film roll. At the same time, a film suction mechanism holds a film by suction. A film storing mechanism pulls the end of the film up to the film suction mechanism. Furthermore, the end of the film that is held by the film suction mechanism by suction and the head of the film of the post-replacement film roll are joined using an adhesive tape. Also, once it is detected based on the output from the load cell that the film has been entirely unrolled, the control device stops the operations of an items supply portion and motor. Accordingly, the items that have been supplied to a bag-manufacturing and packaging portion from the items supply portion at the time the items supply portion is stopped are packaged using film stored in a film storing mechanism. Then, the control device stops the operation of the bag-manufacturing and packaging portion.

  • Patent number: 6729113
Abstract: A lateral sealing mechanism for use in a bag-making and packaging machine includes movable rotary shafts. The movable rotary shafts are driven by a lateral drive mechanism so that the distance between the shafts is controllable. Support mechanisms are mounted on and rotatable about the shafts. The support mechanisms support sealing elements for forming lateral heat seals on a tubular packaging material from which the bags are formed. The support mechanisms are such that the sealing elements are tiltable with respect to the tubular packaging material, and so that two sealing elements can be maintained in directly opposed engagement to one another across the packaging material as the seal is formed. The machine includes a squeezing mechanism that operates to force the packaged material downward within the tubular material and out of a sealing region before the seal is formed.
