  • Patent number: 6829006
Abstract: A digital camera includes a memory card. The memory card is recorded with a plurality of image folders. Each of the image folders accommodates a plurality of image files. A CPU detects each image folder name and the number of image files included in the image folder and assigns a relation between them. If a position number of a desired image file is designated, an image folder having the desired image file is designated based on the position number and the number of image files. Thereafter, the desired image file is specified from among the image files included in the specified image folder based on the position number and the number of files. The specified image file is reproduced from the memory card and a desired image is displayed on an LCD.

  • Patent number: 6727952
Abstract: A digital camera settable in a sleep mode including an ASIC for conducting data communication with a host computer connected to a USB connector, a microcomputer, a pull-up resistor connected to one of a pair of data lines, and a power source circuit. The camera further includes a power source input terminal connectable to a power source output terminal on the host computer, and an on/off switch for turning on/off the power to be supplied to the pull-up resistor. The microcomputer holds the on/off switch off when the camera is set in the sleep mode, while cancelling the sleep mode and turning on the on/off switch upon detecting the connection of the power source output terminal to the power source input terminal. This achieves a greater reduction in power consumption than conventionally, while rendering the camera adapted for a hot plug function even in the sleep mode.

  • Patent number: 6721002
Abstract: A digital camera including a memory card for storing a composite image data. When an operator selects template image data and photographed image data recorded in a memory card, a CPU composites these image data with each other by using a DRAM. The CPU then compares a data amount of composite image data with a vacant capacity of the memory card. If the data amount is less than the vacant capacity, the composite image data is recorded into the memory card. Meanwhile, when the data amount is greater than the vacant capacity, the CPU displays a predetermined alarm message on an LCD. Here, if the operator attaches another memory card, the CPU again compares the data amount of the composite image data with a vacant capacity of a memory card newly attached. If the vacant capacity is sufficient, the composite image data is recorded to the same memory card.

  • Patent number: 6696385
Abstract: The present invention aims at inhibiting a lowering in the modification ratio of a modified cation-exchange resin, in which part of the sulfonic acid groups have been modified with a thiol-containing amine compound and which is employed as a catalyst for producing bisphenol, during preservation. In the present invention, a modified cation-exchange resin is packed together with water into a container while regulating the surface area of the container to 0.5 m2 or less per liter of the resin and then the container is sealed up so that the resin is preserved in a state of being soaked in water.

  • Patent number: 6654051
Abstract: A digital camera includes a CPU. When a memory card is attached to the digital camera, the CPU determines as to a format formed on the memory card. If the format is a normal format, the CPU changes the normal format to an optimal format. However, where an image file is already stored in the memory card or a directory for a file other than the image file is formed, the CPU does not change the format.

  • Patent number: 6618082
Abstract: A digital camera includes a button to renew a displayed image. If an operator depresses the renewing button for 2 seconds or longer, then a continuous reproducing mode is set. If a finger is released from the renewing button, the mode is switched from the continuous reproducing mode to a normal reproducing mode. A CPU, in the continuous reproducing mode, expands thumbnail image data and magnifies the expanded data to display the thumbnail images on an LCD. In the normal reproducing mode, on the other hand, original image data is expanded, and an expanded original image is displayed on the LCD. That is, the thumbnail images are reproduced in a continuous manner during depression of a reproducing button by the operator, while the thumbnail image is turned into an original image if the operator releases his finger from the reproducing button.

  • Patent number: 6469738
Abstract: A digital still camera comprising a CPU 40 for compressing the one frame image data of a photo-shot having a constant data quantity by JPEG method into a variable length with the maximum data quantity of no more than 30 k bytes, and a flash memory 41 for storing the compressed image data in an image region 412. The CPU 40 counts a number of frames of the image data already written onto the image region 412 and the unused data capacity, obtains a remaining number of frames allowable to be photo-shot from the number of frames of the image data already written onto the image region 412, and obtains a remaining number of frames allowable to be photo-shot from the unused data capacity of the image region 412, and also displays either smaller one as the number of frames allowable to be photo-shot.

  • Publication number: 20010012061
Abstract: A digital still camera includes a shutter button. When the shutter button is depressed, the image data from a CCD imager is held in a VRAM. The image data is then compressed according to a JPEG format, and written into a flash memory. In parallel with the writing of the image data to the flash memory, the VRAM is written with sound data, for example, of 6 seconds related to the image data. A flag is set during writing the sound data, and the flag is reset when the writing is ended. Determination for an end of a sound process is made based on a data of this flag. After ending the sound process, the sound data written in the VRAM is compressed and then written into the flash memory. Thereafter, the image data left in the VRAM is recompressed as required.
