Patent number: 7826935Abstract: A controller with a processing unit and a floating-point processor is disposed in a vehicle to control an actuator according to detected parameters sent from sensors. The processor generates a floating-point control parameter indicating a first quantity of control from the detected parameters at floating-point calculations, and the unit generates a fixed-point control parameter indicating a second quantity of control from the detected parameters at fixed-point calculations. The unit converts the floating-point control parameter into a converted control parameter of fixed-point representation and judges from both the converted control parameter and the fixed-point control parameter whether a failure has occurred in the processor. When no failure has occurred in the processor, the unit generates a control signal from the floating-point control parameter. The actuator is operated according to the control signal so as to give the first quantity of control to a controlled object.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2007Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Hidetoshi Kobayashi, Eiji Takayama

Patent number: 6775611Abstract: A crank sensor outputs a crank signal including an angle indicating part and a reference position indicating part. A cam sensor outputs a cam signal including an angle indicating part and a reference position indicating part. A microcomputer executes a cylinder determining processing using the crank signal alone, and also executes a cylinder determining processing using the cam signal alone. In addition, the microcomputer detects abnormality of the crank signal and the cam signal. The cylinder determining processing using the crank signal alone is prohibited when both the crank signal and the cam signal become abnormal while operating the engine. Then, the prohibition of the cylinder determining processing is withdrawn on the condition that the cam signal is recovered to normal.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2003Date of Patent: August 10, 2004Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Hidetoshi Kobayashi, Ken Uchiyama

Patent number: 6745748Abstract: An engine control system executes given control tasks, for example, at a 30° angular interval of an engine crank shaft. If a failure of a crank sensor has occurred, it becomes impossible to determine the 30° angular interval of the crank shaft. In this case, the engine control system works to calculate one-third of an interval (e.g., a 90° crank angle) between consecutive inputs of cam angular position signals to define a dummy 30° crank angle as a trigger for initiating the control tasks. If the cam angular position signal is inputted before the number of times the control tasks should be executed, in sequence, at an interval of the dummy 30° crank angle is not yet reached, each of the control tasks is executed immediately the same number of times as that the control task has not yet been executed at the dummy 30° crank angle time interval.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2001Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Hidetoshi Kobayashi

Patent number: 6671565Abstract: An electronic control apparatus for a control object makes a mode check before each program part is retrieved even at a predetermined start timing, and inhibits a retrieval of program parts unnecessary for operation modes including a normal mode, inspection mode or rewrite mode. As it is not necessary to check the mode in the processing of each program part, the control processing for the control object can be executed efficiently in each mode. As the program parts unnecessary for the specified operation mode is not retrieved either in the specified operation mode, the processing efficiency is increased.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2000Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Hidetoshi Kobayashi
