Publication number: 20100066216Abstract: To provide a quantum motor capable of reliably carrying out rotation. A quantum motor includes a rotor containing a functional material of which quantum characteristic is externally controllable, an N pole permanent magnet and an S pole permanent magnet applying magnetic field to the rotor, and a light source varying the quantum characteristic of the rotor. The light source varies the quantum characteristic of the rotor, so that rotation force is generated in the rotor and the rotor rotates.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2007Publication date: March 18, 2010Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Hidetoshi Kusumi, Tomasz Blachowicz, Hiromichi Yanagihara, Marleen De Weser, Jonas Ambeck-Madsen, Gabriel Othmezouri, Igor Stankovic, Ryuji Funayama, Katsuhiro Sakai

Patent number: 7411324Abstract: A generator-motor includes an alternator, electrode plates, a substrate, MOS transistors, and an MOS driver. Electrode plates are arranged on an end surface of the alternator so as to substantially form a U-shape to surround a rotation shaft of the alternator. MOS transistors are arranged on the electrode plate, while MOS transistors are arranged on the electrode plates respectively. The MOS driver is provided on the substrate arranged in a substantially U-shaped notch, and controls turn-on/off of the MOS transistors.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2003Date of Patent: August 12, 2008Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hidetoshi Kusumi

Patent number: 7180201Abstract: A starting apparatus for an engine has a plurality of cylinders and an output shaft. The apparatus includes a power supply, an inverter having a switching element, a motor generator, an ECU, A crank angle sensor. The motor generator is coupled to the output shaft and connected to the power supply through the inverter. The ECU energizes the motor generator by controlling the inverter when the engine is started. The ECU causes ignition to occur in a specific cylinder that contains air-fuel mixture and is in an expansion stroke in an engine stopping state. The crank angle sensor indirectly detects a rotational speed of the motor generator. After the ignition caused, the ECU prohibits the motor generator from being energized until the rotational speed detected reaches or exceeds a predetermined value. As a result, the apparatus curbs an excessive increase in the temperature of a switching element.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2005Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hidetoshi Kusumi, Kentarou Mitai
