  • Publication number: 20050111404
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus is provided with a fax (facsimile machine) with a telephone function accommodating a public line, and a slave apparatus (cordless handset) capable of wireless communication with the fax, wherein the fax has a function of synthesizing a speech from character data and outputting a speech signal. The fax executes a speech synthesis of the character data based on the character data transmitted from the slave apparatus to the fax and the slave apparatus outputs a speech based on a speech signal transmitted from the fax. As above-mentioned, the present invention enables a read-out of character data stored in a slave apparatus without loading the slave apparatus with a speech synthesizing function, and a program therefor.

  • Patent number: 6728534
Abstract: A radio communication apparatus capable of executing communication and processing of audio data and image data by simplifying the system structure where various apparatuses are connected via a terminal adapter (TA), which conventionally used a large area and whose connection was complicated. More specifically, the system structure comprises: an interface unit (RS232C controller 219, driver 220, PIAFS controller 228, I.460 processor 236) connected with a data terminal (PC) by radio or by cable; radio communication unit (PHS engine unit 237) for realizing radio communication with a wireless telephone unit; and transmission arrangement (first port switch 229, second port switch 233, ISDN interface unit 225 and the like) for transmitting at least one of the data transmitted by the data terminal (PC) or the audio data transmitted by the wireless telephone unit, to the digital public communication line (ISDN).

  • Patent number: 6640094
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus includes an ISDN interface, an RF unit, and a digital phase-lock loop. When synchronization with the digital line has been established, the digital phase-lock loop counts a clock from the RF unit on the basis of the clock of the ISDN, extracted by the ISDN interface and the output of the digital phase-lock loop, and outputs a clock, so that wireless communication is performed in synchronization with the output of the digital phase-lock loop. When synchronization with the digital line has not been established, the digital phase-lock loop frequency-divides the clock from the RF unit in order to generate a synchronization clock for wireless communication.

  • Patent number: 6144693
Abstract: In a radio communication system with a radio control apparatus in radio communication with radio communication apparatus, a frequency hopping method is used in which the frequencies of a hopping pattern are determined by the radio control apparatus. When the frequencies of the hopping pattern are redetermined, the radio communication apparatus is intstructed to end intermittent reception and is notified of the reconfigured hopping pattern. In response to the instruction, the radio communication apparatus ends intermittent reception and shifts to a state of receiving the notification of the hopping pattern from the radio control apparatus. The frequency for performing intermittent reception is based on the relationship between the period of the notified hopping pattern and the time interval of intermittent reception.

  • Patent number: 6085079
Abstract: A voice storage device monitors wireless signals from a plurality of fixed terminals and a plurality of mobile terminals, which are connected to a main unit. When a channel establishment signal is generated by one mobile terminal, the voice storage device detects this signal, and prepares for recording the contents of a speech communication. Subsequently, the fixed terminal generates a channel assignment signal. Thereafter, the voice storage device detects a call setup signal (an ID signal and control information) exchanged between the mobile and fixed terminals, and waits for detection of a response signal which is generated by the mobile terminal and indicates that the call is answered. Upon detection of the response signal, the voice storage device starts a storage operation of voice data at a corresponding one of different storage positions in units of mobile terminals, which position is specified by the call setup signal.
