  • Patent number: 7712183
Abstract: An electric vacuum cleaner (1) of the invention is adapted for wipe off cleaning using a sheet wound about a rotary brush (25) incorporated in a suction device (10). In order to wind a sheet (50) around a periphery of the rotary brush (25), a brush motor (44) rotates the rotary brush (25) in a predetermined direction at a predetermined rotational speed. At the same time, suction force of an electric blower fan (42) is set to the lowest level. This achieves the following advantage in a case where a wet sheet is used as the sheet (50). During sheet winding, water and alcohol released from the wet sheet (50) can be prevented from being scattered on a surface (100) to be cleaned. Further, the released water and alcohol do not adversely affect the electric blower fan (42).

  • Publication number: 20060016043
Abstract: In an inventive electric vacuum cleaner, a filter 20 through which air discharged from an air outlet port 19 is passed is provided on a rear face of a casing 18 of a cyclonic dust collecting apparatus 7, and held by a filter holder 18B. A rear face of the filter 20 is spaced from vertical ribs 32A of the filter holder 18B to define a guide passage 35 for guiding air discharged from a portion of the air outlet port 19 not opposed to an opening 33 through the filter 20 toward the opening 33. The guide passage 35 allows the air to pass through the portion of the air outlet port 19 not opposed to the opening 33.

  • Patent number: 5919030
Abstract: An electric fan comprises: a radial impeller for expelling the air trapped therein out of the impeller; a diffuser having a multiplicity of air passages separated by air guides, the air passages adapted to receive the air expelled from the impeller; a fan case for covering the impeller and the air guides; at least one throughhole which is formed in the fan case for each of the air passages; and a silencer equipped with a multiplicity of silencer cavities each having a predetermined volume and communicating with a corresponding one of the air passages, the silencer covering the fan case. The silencer is provided either on top of or beneath the fan case. Because the volumes of these silencer cavities may be chosen arbitrarily such that the silencer cavities may absorb noise caused by the interference between the impeller and the air passages, even audible noise may be suppressed sufficiently.
