  • Patent number: 5380004
Abstract: An iron-type golf club set includes three club groups; a long iron-type club group comprising a plurality of long iron-type clubs having lower club numbers, a middle iron-type club group including a plurality of middle iron-type clubs having medium club numbers, and a short iron club group including a plurality of short iron-type clubs having higher club numbers. The long iron-type clubs of the long iron-type club group each includes a club head which contains a sole made of a metal material and a shell having a ball-hitting face and a core which is made of a foaming material and enclosed in the shell, and the shell is made of a fiber-reinforced material. The middle iron-type clubs of the middle iron-type club group each includes a club head having a sole and an external periphery each made of a metal material and at least a ball-hitting face made of a fiber-reinforced resin. The short iron-type clubs of the short iron-type club group each includes a club head made of a metal material.

  • Patent number: 5333859
Abstract: An iron golf club set characterized in that the difference of the club lengths between at least two adjacent golf clubs in terms of the club number in a middle iron golf club group is set to be greater than the pitch difference of the club length between the club numbers in a long iron golf club group and the pitch difference of the club lengths between the club numbers in a short iron golf club group.

  • Patent number: 5333860
Abstract: A golf club set consisting of a plurality of golf clubs having a series of continuous club numbers, characterized in that an angle of centroid defined as an angle described between an extension line of a face of a club head and a perpendicular passing through a center axis of a club shaft when the club shaft of each of the golf clubs is placed on a horizontal table with the club head thereof being suspended freely, is smaller for the golf clubs having higher club numbers and progressively larger in the order of decreasing club numbers among a plurality of the golf clubs.

  • Patent number: 4986541
Abstract: Iron golf club set which comprises a plurality of iron clubs having different loft angle between the face of the head and the axis of the shaft of the club. All or some of the clubs in the set have face progression values, which are a distance between the bottom leading edge of the face of the head and the axis of the shaft, which are reduced consecutively or in steps in accordance with a decrease in the value of the loft angle, i.e., a decrease in the club number.
