  • Patent number: 4807791
Abstract: Apparatus for actuating a sidemovement correcting member of a machine for correcting the sidemovement of a travelling sheet-like article, comprising a linear motor having a scale of a predetermined length and a slider disposed at the bottom of the scale, a casing secured to the outer surface of the slider and put on the slider and the sale for preventing the slider from falling off, and a mounting member for the sidemovement correcting member disposed at the center of the top of the casing. The apparatus is arranged so that the linear motor is moved or stopped at a predetermined position in quick response to a selvedge detector signal and the like, thus assuring a highly accurate positioning control of the sidemovement correcting member.

  • Patent number: 4554714
Abstract: A moving web expanding and guiding apparatus comprises, in combination, an expander device having three screw rolls arranged side by side, and a guide device having a required number of centering rolls, wherein the intermediate screw roll is movable in a direction at right angles to the web surface and the centering rolls are tiltable in the direction which corrects the deviation of the web.The apparatus is provided with a screw roll emergency stop mechanism for quickly stopping the rotation of the screw rolls when the moving web excessively zigzag deviates, and a centering roll time delay stop mechanism for stopping the operation of a centering roll tilting mechanism when the centering rolls have returned to their neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4381587
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a fixed roller and a movable roller movable toward and away from the fixed roller to correct the deviation of a travelling fabric by nipping a selvage thereof with the two rollers. The movable roller is biased by a spring toward the fixed roller for nipping the fabric but is normally held away from the fixed roller by a forward stroke of a cylinder against the action of the spring. The spring is provided with a member for adjusting the spring force, and the stroke of the cylinder is also adjustable. The axis of the movable roller is slightly shiftable automatically relative to the fixed roller to assure proper nipping engagement with the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4097973
Abstract: An apparatus comprises guide means including a stationary roller and a movable roller opposed to the stationary roller and movable toward or away therefrom to nip a selvage of the fabric between the rollers when required to correct deviation of the fabric, and unfolding and spreading means including at least three screw rollers arranged side by side at the feed side of the guide means and along the direction of travel of the fabric. Each of the screw rollers is rotatable by a motor in the direction of unfolding and spreading the fabric, at least one of the screw rollers other than the screw rollers at the opposite sides thereof being pivotally movable toward or away from the surface of the fabric. The stationary roller of the guide means includes a roller main body and a shaft rotatable by the motor in the same direction as the direction of travel of the fabric.
