  • Patent number: 6851509
Abstract: An easy-to-assemble electric power steering device for automotive vehicles is provided which includes an electric motor, a controller, and a torque transmission mechanism. The controller controls a steering assist torque outputted by the motor. The torque transmission mechanism work to transmit the output of the motor to a steering shaft. The steering device also includes a support member which work to support the steering shaft and the controller within a shell. Specifically, the controller is not mounted directly on an inner wall of the shell, but retained by the support member, thus facilitating ease of electrical connection between electrical parts installed on the support member and a substrate of the controller after the substrate is mounted on the support member.

  • Patent number: 6808160
Abstract: According to the present invention, a cylindrical member of a solenoid valve is provided with a protruding portion that protrudes in an axial direction of the cylindrical member. By fitting the protruding portion into a vertical groove of a plunger, it is possible to restrict the cylindrical member from moving in a peripheral direction of the plunger. Therefore, it is possible to prevent change of the flow path that passes the plunger and the vertical groove, as well as to prevent variation in a sliding speed of the plunger or the like. As a result, a fluid pulsation reduction effect is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20040028531
Abstract: A low-noise electric structure of an electric power steering device for automotive vehicles is provided which includes a controller including a substrate on which drive devices working to drive an electric motor are installed. The drive devices, power supply terminal joints, and motor terminal joints are concentrated on a portion of the substrate, thereby permitting a path of current flowing from the power supply terminal joints to the motor terminal joints to be shortened. This results in a decrease in quantity of heat generated from a circuit line extending between the power supply terminal joints and the motor terminal joints.

  • Patent number: 5556175
Abstract: When oil flows from within a seat valve along an oil path in a valve, structure is such that a negative pressure is generated to draw a ball in the direction of the seat valve. That is, the force in the direction of valve closure is actively utilized, the valve does not perform a full stroke in a certain differential pressure range, and increases in a pulsed manner in a minute-stroke state, i.e., in a state where the passage cross-sectional area of the valve is small. Therefore, effective control becomes possible without a large pressure increase.

  • Patent number: 4812845
Abstract: A running guide system for an automotive vehicle planned for running in a sightseeing area or the like. Special running data including right or left turn, passage through a tunnel, running in a predetermined direction and passage on a slope are stored in a cassette tape together with distance data representing the distance from a start point in the form of a plurality of check point data. By collation of the running distance data actually measured and the special running condition data with the stored data, the automobile is guided audibly or visually. Geographical data or sightseeing data are also recorded in the cassette tape and reproduced in voice from time to time. When the automobile is displaced from the planned running route, an alarm is issued. When the automobile is restored to the planned running route, the planned running guide is restored.

  • Patent number: 4515575
Abstract: A torque transmission system has driving and driven pulley units around which an endless V-belt extends. Each pulley unit has a stationary pulley part rotatable with a shaft and a movable pulley part disposed to define with the stationary pulley part a circumferentially continuous groove for receiving the V-belt. The movable pulley parts of the pulley units are axially resiliently biased so that the radii of the circle along which the V-belt engages the driving and driven pulley units are varied to change the speed-change ratio of the transmission system. The movable pulley part of the driven pulley unit is axially shifted by the action of fly weights held between a stationary plate fixed to the shaft and a holder fixed to the movable pulley part.

  • Patent number: 4478595
Abstract: In combination with a belt tensioner which includes an idler pulley to be radially displaced under control of an actuator for applying an tensioning force on an endless belt of the drive system for the vehicle accessories, an electric control apparatus comprises a microcomputer for calculating the actual tensioning force on the belt related to radial displacement of the idler pulley and for calculating drive power necessary for driving the vehicle accessories to calculate total drive torque of the vehicle accessories in relation to rotational speed of a prime mover of the vehicle. The microcomputer also calculates an optimum tensioning force based on a desired relationship between the optimum tensioning force and the total drive torque in consideration with the maximum efficiency of power transmission of the belt such that it generates a control signal when the calculated actual tensioning force is different from the calculated optimum tensioning force.

  • Patent number: 4466521
Abstract: An electric control system for an automobile transmission includes an endless transmission member running on a pair of V-shaped pulley units, the mutual distances of the conical sheaves of which are hydraulically adjustable to transmit an output torque of an engine to a driven apparatus. The electric control system is arranged to determine an optimum fluid pressure in relation to the actual output torque of the engine and to determine an optimum transmission ratio for low fuel consumption in relation to the actual output power of the engine. The control system produces a first electric control signal indicative of the difference between the optimum fluid pressure and the actual fluid pressure in one of actuators for the respective pulley units and produces a second electric control signal indicative of the difference between the optimum and actual transmission ratios.
