  • Patent number: 8090585
Abstract: An audio decoding device comprises an audio decoding section for decoding first stream data and second stream data to generate two pieces of audio data and a data processing parameter, an external setting section in which a parameter corresponding to the data processing parameter is set, and an audio data processing section for processing the two pieces of audio data. When the data processing parameter contained in the second stream data is inappropriate, the audio data processing section performs data processing using the parameter set in the external setting section. When the data processing parameter contained in the second stream data is appropriate, the audio data processing section performs data processing using the data processing parameter generated by the audio decoding section.

  • Patent number: 7693722
Abstract: An audio decoding apparatus for decoding and reproducing a plurality of compressed audio streams simultaneously without sound interruption, even when the number of samples per frame is different. The audio decoding apparatus includes: a first and second audio decoder which decode two inputted compressed audio streams, and output audio data; a first and second intermediate buffer which temporarily hold the outputted audio data; a first and second audio output unit which convert the audio data into audio signals and output such audio signals; an output control unit which reads the audio data from the first and second intermediate buffer, and transmits the audio data to the first and second audio output unit. The output control unit repeats the reading and transmission of either the same number of samples of audio data or the number of samples of audio data for the same amount of transmission time.

  • Publication number: 20070174061
Abstract: In a compression process (S10), each allocation table is converted by reducing each group of subbands sharing a common pattern to one (S11), and the allocation tables are further converted into a single table (S12). Then, offset values each corresponding to one subband are defined in a table (S13), and these tables are stored in the memory (S14). In a decoding process (S20), an offset value is obtained using a subband as a key (S21), and the number of quantization steps is obtained from a pattern read out from the table using the offset value (S22).

  • Patent number: 7200562
Abstract: The multimedia data decoder includes a decoding section and a control section. The decoding section for decoding coded data in a bit stream has a function to detect a synchronous word from the bit stream, analyze decoding information following the synchronous word and extract specific option designating information from the decoding information. The control section determines whether or not the option designating information extracted by the decoding section has any out-of-standard value, that is, any value that is not defined by a standard. If the option designating information has any out-of-standard data, the control section controls the decoding section so as to replace the out-of-standard value with a value defined by the standard and conduct a decoding process. For this purpose, the control section applies replacement information to the decoding section. Accordingly, decoded data is obtained even if the decoding information has an out-of-standard value.

  • Publication number: 20050163275
Abstract: For a stream input from a signal input section to a synchronization word analysis section, a synchronization word is searched by the synchronization word analysis section and it is confirmed whether or not the analyzed synchronization word matches a pattern of a decodable synchronization word. When a synchronization word is detected, the synchronization word is selectively output to a header analysis section corresponding to the type of the detected synchronization word by decoding system switching section. Then, using analyzed header information, a frame is decoded by the decoding section and output from a signal output section. After the frame is output, the process returns to the synchronization word analysis section and the same processing is performed to each of all frames in the stream.
