  • Publication number: 20240120996
Abstract: An optical transmitter includes: an optical modulator of a Mach-Zehnder type using an InP-based material; a bias controller configured to control a DC bias applied to the optical modulator; a monitor configured to monitor output light of the optical modulator to generate a monitor signal; and a corrector configured to correct a gain of the monitor signal in a direction in which wavelength dependency of insertion loss of the optical modulator is compensated according to a wavelength at a preceding stage of bias control by the bias controller.

  • Publication number: 20230362162
Abstract: A system receives an access token generated by a user performing authentication via an authentication device, for example, a smart card. The system obtains a personalized virtual machine assigned to the user. The system exchanges the access token for a temporary certificate having an expiry time. The system provides the temporary certificate that includes verifiable user identity to a personalized virtual machine. The system provides the user with access to the personalized virtual machine. The system allows the user to present verifiable user identity and connect to any of a plurality of systems without requiring the user to authenticate again using the authentication device. After the expiry time of the temporary certificate is exceeded, the system denies subsequent requests from the user to connect to any of the plurality of systems.

  • Publication number: 20190040612
Abstract: Provided is a hand washing device with which malfunctions of a washing liquid dispenser can be prevented during hand washing without the need for a complex device structure. A hand washing device 1 comprises: a water discharger 10 that discharges water or hot water when an object is detected; and a washing liquid dispenser 20 that dispenses a washing liquid. The water discharger 10 includes: a water discharge port 12; a water discharge sensor 11 that detects an object within a detection range; and a water discharge control unit 16 that controls the discharge/cutoff of water or hot water from the water discharge port 12 on the basis of a detection signal of the water discharge sensor 11.

  • Patent number: 9821326
Abstract: A pulse shower device including a water dispersion plate and an impeller is provided. The water dispersion plate includes an inner surface and an outer surface, and a plurality of shower holes that are provided from the water surface to the outer surface. The impeller includes shower hole blocking portions that are formed over a predetermined circumferential length along the inner surface in a downstream portion of the inner surface of the water dispersion plate, and or the plurality of shower holes; shower hole opening portions that open toward the inner surface; a plurality of vanes; an inner peripheral portion; and an outer peripheral portion. The impeller is provided on an upstream portion of the inner surface of the water dispersion plate, and rotates around an axis due to a water stream hitting the vanes.

  • Patent number: 6938390
Abstract: A method for reinforcing a structure with a sheet containing reinforcing fiber yarns is disclosed, by which method separation of the sheet is sufficiently prevented, maximum use of the sheet strength is achieved, and existing structures are effectively reinforced. The method includes the step of providing a sheet containing reinforcing fiber yarns over the surface of a structure selected from the group consisting of concrete and steel structures, with a flexible material interposed therebetween, the flexible material having a tensile elongation of 10 to 200% at maximum load at 23° C., and a tensile strength of 0.1 to 50 N/mm2 at 23° C.

  • Publication number: 20040213952
Abstract: This invention relates to an FRP structural member comprising reinforcing fibers, which comprises carbon fibers (a) having tensile modulus of 400 to 850 GPa, in which the carbon fibers (a) are placed so that the orientation direction of the carbon fibers (a) becomes parallel to the longitudinal direction of the structural member. The FRP structural member has high vibration-damping property and much lower production cost as well as light weight, high rigidity and superior corrosion property.
