  • Publication number: 20110315630
Abstract: Simplified liquid-solid and liquid-liquid separations after centrifugal extraction are used to extract a target substance from a substance mixture into a solvent. An extraction container has a closed-end cylindrical shape, and is rotated around a central axis by an extractor rotor driven by a motor. The extraction container includes: an opening provided in a bottom portion thereof; and a valve (valve ball) provided at the opening, and opened or closed by a pressure difference between above and below the valve. In extraction, a substance mixture and a solvent are put into the extraction container. The extraction container is repeatedly subjected to normal rotation, pausing, reverse rotation, and pausing to thereby extract a target substance from the substance mixture into the solvent and to separate the liquids into upper and lower layers.

  • Patent number: 7503356
Abstract: There is provided a low-cost liquid supply apparatus using a system in which a liquid nozzle is moved, the apparatus being configured so that the installation area of the apparatus is small, a liquid vessel can be installed or removed easily without being hindered by equipment for moving the liquid nozzle, and further the number of parts is small. The liquid nozzle is attached to an arm capable of being turned reversibly around a turning shaft, and the movement of the liquid nozzle is controlled by the turning angle of the arm for either one axis of the X-axis and the Y-axis and is controlled by changing the length of the arm from the turning shaft for the other axis.

  • Patent number: 6092995
Abstract: A high accuracy and high precision pump for fluids, specifically for use in chemical and/or medical analyzers includes a female-thread or nut inside the motor rotor shaft and a male-thread or lead screw mated with the female-thread or nut supported by a bearing that restricts the rotation of the lead screw. The lead screw slides axially, and is connected directly to a plunger or piston which is moved forward or backward by the rotation of the motor rotor. The end of the plunger or piston cylinder chamber includes a common fluid path switch-over valve by which fluid flow may be switched over to a plurality of fluid paths. Movement of pumping components, including pump(s), nozzle(s), valve(s), and tubing, is unified to eliminate volume changes due to changes in fluid tubing flexion.

  • Patent number: 5887977
Abstract: An apparatus to mix various liquids in fluid streams includes an outer casing with a plurality of fluid inlets and a fluid outlet, and a plurality of discs bearing a plurality of different holes or groove arrangements stacked one upon another between the fluid inlets and outlet to induce a rotational angular velocity to the fluid streams.

  • Patent number: 5205844
Abstract: A degassing apparatus in which a tube made of permeable film is laid in a vacuum chamber which is decompressed and controlled by a vacuum pump, and a liquid flowing in the tube is degassed by causing gas to permeate through the wall of the tube. The degassing apparatus comprises a valve for opening the vacuum chamber toward the atmosphere and/or a permeable film which is placed between the vacuum chamber and the atmosphere and/or a valve for opening the vacuum pump to the atmosphere which is disposed between the primary valve and the primary cylinder of the vacuum pump. This degassing apparatus can be very small in size and can operate stably.

  • Patent number: 4648812
Abstract: Pulsations of a peristaltic type fluid-infusion pump are prevented by providing pulsations of opposite phase to that of the pulsations occurring during fluid infusion by the peristaltic type fluid-infusion pump.

  • Patent number: 4547340
Abstract: An automatic extractor apparatus has a rotatable turn table on which are supported a plurality of angularly spaced-apart treating vessels. The treating vessels are mounted around the periphery of the turn table and are supported by pivot pins such that when the turn table is in a non-rotation state, the treating vessels hang downwardly from the pivot pins, whereas when the turn table is rotationally driven at high speed, the heating vessels pivot about the pivot pins and are flung outwardly due to centrifugal force. A drive mechanism rotationally indexes the turn table to different stop positions, and a plurality of treating stations are disposed at the stop positions to treat the solution contained in the treating vessels and extract therefrom the desired substance. The turn table is used both as an indexing table for indexing the treating vessels to different stop positions and a centrifuging table to centrifuge the solutions in the treating vessels.
