  • Patent number: 9435647
Abstract: An angular velocity sensor including a vibration body having a sensor electrode, a driving electrode, and a monitor electrode. The monitor electrode generates a signal according to vibration of the vibration body. The sensor circuit outputs a signal representing an angular velocity applied to the vibration body. The amplitude determination circuit measures amplitude of vibration of the vibration body. A PLL circuit includes a constant voltage source for generating a constant voltage, a timing switching unit for outputting a voltage by switching selectively between the constant voltage and a voltage corresponding to the monitor signal, and a voltage-controlled oscillator for outputting an oscillation signal having a frequency corresponding to the voltage output from the timing switching unit. When the amplitude measured is smaller than a predetermined value, the timing switching unit outputs the constant voltage output from the constant voltage source and outputs a start-up mode signal.

  • Patent number: 9392171
Abstract: A motion sensor includes a sensor element that outputs a sense signal in response to a motion applied thereto and a sensor circuit that senses the motion based on the sense signal. The sensor circuit includes a sensor-element-signal amplifier that receives the sense signal. The sensor-element-signal amplifier operates switchably between at a normal mode and at a low-noise mode that consumes a larger electric power and produces a smaller noise than the normal mode. This motion sensor senses a small motion and a large motion accurately.

  • Publication number: 20160187136
Abstract: A physical-quantity sensor is configured to be used with a physical-quantity sensor element that outputs a sensor signal in response to a physical quantity. A physical-quantity detection circuit of the physical-quantity sensor includes a signal generating unit for generating a detecting signal and a multiplier that multiplies the sensor signal by the detecting signal. The signal generating unit converts a first phase of a predetermined signal having a frequency corresponding to a frequency of the sensor signal, into a second phase, and calculates an amplitude value corresponding to the second phase as to generate the detecting signal. This physical-quantity sensor improves accuracy of phase adjustment without increasing a sampling frequency.

  • Publication number: 20150354706
Abstract: Disclosed is a lip seal for water pump made of a rubber-like elastic material, fixed to a housing as a fixed side and in sliding contact with a shaft rotating relative to the housing; the lip seal having sliding surface with a surface roughness Ra (according to JIS B0601 corresponding to ISO 4287) of 1 to 30 ?m, being obtained by vulcanization-molding of a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the rubber-like elastic material, 1 to 150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5 to 90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of 1 ?m or more, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a co-crosslinking agent, and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide. The lip seal effects to prevent softening and volume swelling of the rubber-like elastic material and furthermore the generation of deposits in the rotating shaft, which are problematic for rotation torque and LLC resistance.
