  • Patent number: 6245231
Abstract: The filter apparatus is composed of a filter housing made of non-conductive material, a filter element made of conductive material contained in the filter housing, and a conductive plug with a sealing element. The filter housing has a bore and the conductive plug is inserted into the bore of the filter housing so that the clearance between the conductive plug and the filter housing is hermetically sealed by the sealing element. The conductive plug is connected in circuit to the filter element in a manner that a part of the plug is exposed out of the filter housing and an earth wire attached to the exposed portion of the plug. The static electricity generated in the filter apparatus is released via a conductive path extending from the filter element through the plug to the earth wire so that the electrostatic discharge may be prevented. The conductive plug is made of material having 107 to 1011 &OHgr;·cm resistivity.

  • Patent number: 5642718
Abstract: A fuel pump apparatus disposed within a fuel tank which may be employed in automotive vehicles is disclosed. The fuel pump apparatus includes a fuel pump, a filter, and a conductive member. The fuel pump is disposed within a conductive pump housing. The filter includes a filter element and a conductive filter casing. The filter element removes particles contained in fuel which is discharged from the fuel pump and returned to the fuel tank. The conductive member electrically connects between the pump housing and the filter casing for dissipating electrostatic charges generated by the friction between the filter element and the fuel passing through the filter element.

  • Patent number: 5279917
Abstract: A light-sensitive composition comprises a light-sensitive compound, an alkali soluble resin and a fluorine-containing surfactant. The surfactant is a copolymer of a (poyoxyalkylene)acrylate or (polyoxyalkylene)methacrylate with an acrylate or methacrylate having a fluorine-containing aliphatic group. The copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 1000 to 6000 and contains the acrylate or methacrylate in an amount of 10 to 25% by weight. The fluorine-containing aliphatic group has 6 to 20 carbon atoms and 30% or more by weight of fluorine atoms.

  • Patent number: 4585988
Abstract: A control transistor (Q.sub.2) is connected between a base and an emitter of a switching transistor (Q.sub.1) for by-passing a base current of the switching transistor (Q.sub.1). In a transitional period immediately after application of an input voltage, a time-constant circuit (R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10, R.sub.11, C.sub.4), which is connected to a base of the control transistor (Q.sub.2) through a diode (D.sub.5), supplies the base of the control transistor (Q.sub.2) with a voltage lower than the output voltage. Therefore, the control transistor (Q.sub.2) is turned ON immediately after the application of the input voltage to by-pass the base current of the switching transistor (Q.sub.2), whereby the switching transistor (Q.sub.1) is forced to be turned OFF. The switching transistor (Q.sub.1) is turned ON again by self-excitation and then is at once made to be turned OFF again by the effect of the time-constant circuit (R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10, R.sub.11, C.sub.4).
