    Abstract: During upper-stage recording (recording to rolled paper of an upper-stage roll folder) of upper/lower-stage continuous recording, if absence of the rolled paper on a spool is detected, the recording is suspended, and the rolled paper is then cut by a cutter at the suspended position, and the remaining rolled paper is taken up into the upper-stage roll folder. On one hand, during lower-stage recording (recording to rolled paper of a lower-stage roll folder), if absence of the rolled paper on a spool is detected, the recording is continued until absence of the rolled paper is detected by an in-path sensor, the recording is continued according to a remaining amount of the rolled paper after absence of the rolled paper was detected by the in-path sensor, and the remaining rolled paper is then discharged outside after the recording ended.

An image read by a reader 701 is stored into a memory 711, and a reading counter 714 changes the reading address of the memory 711 in accordance with set information.     Abstract: The invention is directed to a system including a host computer and a textile ink jet printer connected to each other via an interface. The system includes an input unit, a selection unit, an extraction unit, a designation unit and a print controller. The input unit inputs image data of a basic image, while the selection unit selects a design pattern for repeatedly arranging the basic image. The extraction unit extracts at least one design from the image data of the basic image. The designation unit designates whether or not to maintain the continuity of the extracted design in accordance with the selected design pattern, in a case where the ink jet printer restarts printing of the design pattern after interruption of a print operation of the design pattern. The print controller controls the ink jet printer to print the design pattern in accordance with a designation by the designation unit, in the case where the print operation of the design pattern is restarted.

    Abstract: An ink jet textile printing method forms an image on cloths in an image forming operation by repeating a step of applying ink on the cloths from an ink discharge port of a recording head, the recording head relatively main-scanning to form the image in a main scan direction, and a step of relatively conveying the cloths in a sub-scan direction. The method includes the steps of forming the image on the cloths by applying ink on the cloths from the recording head based on image data. The method further includes the step of temporarily stopping the image forming operation in accordance with an indication to effect a temporary halt of the image forming operation. When the temporary halt is indicated while the recording head performs a main scan in the image forming operation, the image forming operation by the main scan is completed, and then the temporary halt of the image forming operation is effected by moving the recording head to a standby position.
