  • Publication number: 20110293248
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image conversion apparatus includes a 3D conversion instruction module, a determination module, and a converter. The 3D conversion instruction module is configured to instruct execution of a 3D conversion required to convert an input image into a 3D image. The determination module is configured to determine validity or invalidity of the 3D conversion instruction based on whether the input image corresponds to a 3D image format or a 2D image format. The converter is configured to convert, based on validity determination of the 3D conversion instruction, the input image into the 3D image in response to the 3D conversion instruction.

  • Patent number: 7505584
Abstract: An apparatus generates first shared information that is shared by the apparatus and a recording medium by performing a first bilateral authentication. The apparatus encrypts overwrite data that is used to erase key information item recorded in the recording medium using the first shared information. Encrypted overwrite data is transferred to the recording medium. Second shared information is generated and shared by the apparatus and the recording medium by performing a second bilateral authentication between them. The apparatus receives data that is encrypted using the second shared information and that has been used by the recording medium for erasing key information. Encrypted data is decrypted using second shared information item and key information recorded in the recording medium is erased when the decrypted data is identical to overwrite data.

  • Patent number: 7206951
Abstract: A power control driver of a BIOS has a function of changing a frequency of clock supplied to a CPU. According to the function of the power control driver, it is possible to set a normal mode for showing the CPU capability to the maximum and a power saving mode for preferentially taking power saving rather than the CPU capability. A power control utility program carries out the following power saving control. The program shifts a system to the normal mode when an AV application program operating an encoder and a decoder required for showing the CPU capability to the maximum is operating. In addition, the program shifts the system to the power saving mode when the program is not operating even if application programs other than the program are operating.

  • Patent number: 6327674
Abstract: A recording and reproducing system has a computer data table and an audio visual data table as address conversion tables for managing addresses necessary for a process in response to an access command for record or reproduction transmitted from a host system to a recording medium. When a defective block occurs, in case of computer data, a substitute block is used and the physical address of the defective block in the computer data table is rewritten to the physical address of the substitute block. In case of audio visual data, the data is written in the defective block and the physical address of the defective block in the audio visual data table is maintained. In response to an access command from the host system, the recording and reproducing system executes an access process to the recording medium with reference to the computer data table or the audio visual data table, in accordance with the kind of data to be accessed.
