  • Patent number: 4326148
Abstract: In a gas discharge display device comprising a number of parallel array of anodes and crosswide disposed parallel array of cathodes, the anodes and cathodes being disposed with small discharging gaps filled with gas inbetween thereby forming a gas discharging matrix, on which a discharging spot scans from one end to the other end of the cathode of the array, wherein the array of the cathode is divided into plural divided arrays each having substantially the same number of cathodes and respective cathodes of the divided arrays are connected in common to respective cathodes of other divided arrays, the improvement is that any cathodes neighboring each other in one of the divided arrays are connected to such cathodes in other divided arrays as those are other than each other neighboring cathodes.

  • Patent number: 4206386
Abstract: A gas-discharge display device has a parallel array of anodes and a parallel array of cathodes forming a matrix of anode-cathode cross points or discharge dots. The display device is filled with a discharge gas mixture at the discharge dots or cells. Displaying and scanning are respectively achieved through drive circuits supplying discharges of a layer and a smaller current, or discharges for a longer and shorter time respectively.

  • Patent number: 4109175
Abstract: A high pressure sodium vapor discharge lamp comprises an alumina tube envelope containing therein sodium, inert starting gas, buffer gas source of mercury or cadmium and discharge electrodes sealed in the envelope, inner diameter d (in mm) of said tube envelope and an average potential gradient E in volt/cm having the relationE.gtoreq.37.7-2.05d,and further comprisesA radiation suppressing means for selectively absorbing red radiation of a wavelength longer than 620 nm said radiation suppression means being disposed on the wall of outer bulb enclosing the tube envelope; The lamp achieves higher color temperature and higher general color rendering index than the conventional one without increasing its tube voltage and is suitable for highly efficient indoor illumination.

  • Patent number: 4047069
Abstract: A high pressure mercury vapor lamp having an outer bulb with a plural-phosphor coating on the inside surface thereof. A first phosphor provides for emission peaks within the range of wavelengths between 440 and 540 nm and contains strontium chloroapatite, barium magnesium aluminate, strontium chlorosilicate, barium magnesium aluminate, or barium strontium silicate, each activated with di-valent europium. A second phosphor includes yttruim vanaphosphate activated with tri-valent europium which has emission peaks between 600 and 720 nm.
