Patent number: 11845435Abstract: A driving assistance device includes a forward recognizer configured to recognize a forward situation of a vehicle, a brake controller configured to perform brake control, and a determiner configured to determine execution of the brake control and drive control based on target data obtained by the forward recognizer and/or from map information. The brake controller performs the brake control to stop the vehicle at a position before a stop line of a road surface, based on a recognition result from the forward recognizer. When the vehicle stops and the forward situation is determined to be safe the determiner slowly drives the vehicle to another position before a crossing road edge where the road on which the vehicle drives intersects with another road. When the vehicle is at the other position and the forward situation is determined to be safe, the determiner slowly drives the vehicle from the other position by a predetermined distance.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2021Date of Patent: December 19, 2023Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Takuro Yatagai, Hikaru Kumagai

Patent number: 11458936Abstract: A drive assist apparatus includes a detector and a traveling controller. The detector detects an operation target of automatic emergency braking of a vehicle. The traveling controller includes a calculator and a determiner, and controls the automatic emergency braking on the basis of a result of the detection performed by the detector. The calculator calculates each of a target deceleration rate and a variation rate. The target deceleration rate is a target value of a deceleration rate of the automatic emergency braking. The variation rate is a rate of variation in the deceleration rate required for the deceleration rate of the automatic emergency braking to reach the target deceleration rate. The determiner determines a contact risk of the vehicle with the operation target on the basis of the target deceleration rate. The calculator increases the variation rate when the contact risk is determined by the determiner as being relatively high.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2018Date of Patent: October 4, 2022Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Hikaru Kumagai, Zhaofei Dong

Patent number: 11338800Abstract: A vehicle control apparatus includes a time-to-collision acquisition unit that acquires time to collision that is a time period until a time of collision of an own vehicle with a front obstacle, an overlap rate acquisition unit that acquires an overlap rate indicating a relative positional relationship between the own vehicle and the front obstacle in a lateral direction perpendicular to a traveling direction of the own vehicle, a determination unit that performs execution determination of automatic braking control of the own vehicle, on the basis of the time to collision and the overlap rate, and that, when the overlap rate is increasing by the front obstacle approaching the own vehicle in the lateral direction, determines start timing of the automatic braking control as earlier timing than when the overlap rate is not increasing, and an automatic controller that executes the automatic braking control at the start timing.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventor: Hikaru Kumagai
