  • Patent number: 6866320
Abstract: An instrument panel is formed in such a manner as to be vertically divided into an upper panel and a lower panel along a transverse direction of the body of a vehicle. A steering support beam and a blower unit are integrally mounted on the lower panel to construct a unitized component before they are mounted on the vehicle body. After the unitized component is mounted on the vehicle body from an upper side of the lower panel, the upper panel is mounted on the vehicle body.

Date of Patent: March 15, 2005
    Assignee: Fuji Jukogyo Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventors: Akira Takano, Hikaru Sunohara
  • Patent number: 6698793
Abstract: An instrument panel extends in the widthwise direction of a vehicle body, and is vertically separated into an upper panel and a lower panel. A bolt member for fastening a column-mounting bracket and a column holder is independently fixed to the column-mounting bracket and to the column holder. In a state in which the bolt member is fixed to the column holder, a first nut member is screwed onto a first externally-threaded portion from above the lower panel mounted on the vehicle body, thereby fastening the column holder to the column-mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 6663179
Abstract: A backseat (10) has a seat cushion (11) and a seat back (14). The seat cushion (11) is divided into a movable block (12) and a stationary block (13). When turning forward the seat back (14) in the horizontal position to expand a luggage compartment (2), the stationary block (13) does not obstruct turning the seat back (14), and it is left unmoved and the movable block (12) normally set at a first position is shifted to a second position in front of and on a level below that of the first position. The movable block (12) does not obstruct the sliding and reclining operations of a front seat disposed in front of the backseat.

  • Patent number: 6397553
Abstract: An interior shock absorbing structure for a vehicle includes a shock absorbing member. A roof brace (lateral reinforcing beam) is attached to the inner surface of a roof panel facing a passenger room. The shock absorbing member is attached to the roof brace so as to cover the roof brace at positions nearer to the roof panel with respect to a lower wall member of the roof brace. The shock absorbing member has an inner wall spaced a predetermined long distance a corresponding to a shock absorbing stroke, apart from the lower wall member of the roof brace. The shock absorbing member is able to collapse through a sufficiently long shock absorbing stroke when shocks are exerted thereon.
