  • Publication number: 20240111068
Abstract: A system including a sensor housing including a channel, and cantilever beam connected to the sensor housing and disposed within the channel. The system also includes an actuator connected to the cantilever beam and configured to cause the cantilever beam to vibrate. A sensor is connected to the cantilever beam and is configured to generate a first signal representing a cantilever beam vibration of the cantilever beam. The system also includes an accelerometer connected to at least one of the sensor and the sensor housing, the accelerometer configured to generate a second signal representing an external vibration of the sensor housing. The external vibration changes the cantilever beam vibration. The system also includes a signal processor configured to receive, as input, the first signal and the second signal and to generate, as output, a filtered signal that reduces an effect of the external vibration on the cantilever beam vibration.

  • Publication number: 20230144146
Abstract: A detection system includes a pressure sensor configured to contact an annular elastomer component of an annular BOP, wherein the pressure sensor is configured to generate a first signal indicative of a contact pressure with the annular elastomer component. The detection system also includes a piston stroke sensor configured to generate a second signal indicative of a piston stroke distance. The detection system further includes a controller configured to receive the first signal from the pressure sensor and the second signal from the piston stroke sensor and analyze respective changes in the contact pressure and respective changes in the piston stroke distance to determine a condition of the annular BOP.

  • Publication number: 20230127346
Abstract: A sensor package may include a sensor housing unit and a first sensor that may acquire a first set of measurements within a first measurement range. The sensor package may also include a second sensor configured to acquire a second set of measurements within a second measurement range. The first measurement range and the second measurement range may include an overlapping range used to calibrate the first set of measurements, the second set of measurements, or both.

  • Publication number: 20110184320
Abstract: A system for monitoring a user's body has a single sensor patch directly affixed to the user's body. The sensor senses a condition of the user's body and transmits the sensed signal directly to a base station located remote from the sensor. The sensor can alternatively transmit the sensed signal to a receiver located in the user's helmet. The helmet optionally includes a power module which wirelessly provides power to the sensor. Since the sensor is affixed to the user, and not the helmet, it will only record impact to the user's body. Once the helmet is removed from the user's head, the sensor is powered off or can remain charged for a short period of time by a chargeable power source to record any subsequent impact to the user's body.

  • Publication number: 20090000377
Abstract: A brain and/or skull impact measurement system has a body mounted impact device. The body mounted impact device includes a tri-axial accelerometer configured to measure impacts to an individual's body where the sensor produces impact data in response to the impact. A reader is provided with a data processor and a transmitter/receiver that receives the impact data. The reader is coupled to the body mounted impact device and can be a handheld device.
