    Abstract: A method for desulfurization of hydrocarbon comprising reducing the sulfur content of hydrocarbons containing sulfur compounds, which comprises mixing the hydrocarbons containing sulfur compounds with water vapor, and contacting the resultant mixture with a catalyst comprising an inorganic oxide support and either platinum or palladium fixed to the support, and with a desulfurizing material at a temperature of 300° C. or higher.
