  • Patent number: 10405896
Abstract: A rod reducer including a housing, a plurality of arm members, an anvil, a shaft, a sleeve, and a plurality of locking feet. The shaft and locking feet are coupled to the anvil. The housing is slidably disposed within a cavity of the sleeve and defines an opening to receive the shaft. The locking feet are additionally coupled to the sleeve and are pivotable between an engaged configuration with the sleeve in a distal position with respect to the anvil and a released configuration with the sleeve in a proximal position. In the engaged configuration an engagement surface of the locking feet couple to an outer housing of a dual layered housing of a bone screw such that proximal translation of the shaft drives the outer housing proximally with respect to an inner housing of the bone screw into a partially locked or locked configuration.

  • Patent number: 10390861
Abstract: A spinal stabilization device includes a rod receiving member, a collet, a plug, and a first bone screw. The rod receiving member defines a first throughhole, a collet recess aligned with the first throughhole, and a rod receiving slot offset from the first throughhole. The collet is insertable into the collet recess and defines an aperture, a plug recess aligned with the aperture, and a wall portion defining a rod securing slot configured to fix the spinal rod therein. The collet is transitionable between a first diameter, where the rod securement region defines a first diameter, and a second diameter, where the rod securement region defines a second diameter. The plug is insertable within the plug recess, and transitions the collet between the first and second diameters. The first bone screw includes a head portion and a threaded portion, and is insertable through the rod receiving member and the collet.

  • Patent number: 9421038
Abstract: A spinal stabilization system includes a shaped spinal rod and a plurality of bone screws. The shaped spinal rod includes a body portion, a head portion, and a neck portion connecting the body portion to the head portion. The shaped spinal rod provides coronal rigidity for a complex deformity construct, and allows for rotation of the shaped spinal rod in a medial and lateral direction to facilitate insertion into the screw head. The bone screws include a housing portion and a screw shaft distally extending from the housing portion. The housing portion includes an inner housing and an outer housing slidably surrounding at least a portion of the inner housing. The inner housing defines a slot configured and dimensioned to releasably secure the body portion of the shaped spinal rod therein. The outer housing is movable relative to the inner housing between an unlock state and a locked state.

  • Patent number: 8323344
Abstract: A device is disclosed for insertion in the human or animal body in order to increase the spacing between adjacent spinous processes of the spinal column. The device comprises a plurality of shaped members which are pivotally joined to each other and arranged around a central screwed rod which is supported by a collar at one end and a threaded collar at the opposite end said collar and collar being located within the pivoting axis of the adjacent members forming each end of the device. Following insertion in the body and positioning between adjacent spinous processes the device may be deployed by rotation of the central screwed rod in order to achieve the desired separation of adjacent spinous processes while at the same time providing a secure location of the device in the deployed condition.
