  • Patent number: 4116468
Abstract: An editor for various-sized paper rolls used in cash registers, and the like, has a supporting base on which are mounted first and second roller assemblies of different heights. Between the roller assemblies is disposed an inclined reading and notation table arranged for supporting a tape being wound between the roller assemblies, with the inclination of the table being from the higher to the lower of the roller assemblies. The height of the table is variable to accommodate the tape as same is being taken from one roller assembly to the other so as to prevent strain of the tape as it moves over the table. Each of the roller assemblies has a shaft journaled in a split bearing at one end and in a bearing hinged for swinging laterally of the assembly at the other end for permitting a tape to be placed on and removed from the shaft. A disc slidably and lockably disposed on the shaft cooperates therewith to form a spool of various widths for receiving various-sized paper rolls.
