    Abstract: Provided herein are protection devices, such as fuses, including a coiled fusible element. In some embodiments, a fuse includes a body including a center portion extending between a first end and a second end, and a first endcap surrounding the first end and a second endcap surrounding the second end. The fuse may further include a fusible element disposed within a central cavity of the body, wherein the fusible element includes a first coil disposed within the first endcap and a second coil disposed within the second endcap. The fusible element further includes a central wire extending diagonally between the first and second coils.
