Patent number: 4906057Abstract: A closed portable card file comprises a base, cover, retractable carrying handle and a releasable latch to hold the cover closed. The back of the cover is square and extends down behind the back of the base and is hinged near the bottom of the base so that when the card file is in closed condition the back of the cover is approximately perpendicular to the base and when the card file is open, the back of the cover lies approximately in the plane of the base. Hence the card file can stand upright on the back of the cover when closed. When the card file is open and rests on a horizontal surface, the cover stands upright and is retained in open position by its weight. The base has rails for receiving notched cards and guides, and ribs which are parallel to the rails and are of a height to engage lower edges of the cards and guides and thereby reduce wear on the notches which receive the rails.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1983Date of Patent: March 6, 1990Assignee: Rolodex CorporationInventors: Richard A. Patent number: 4570469Abstract: A key retaining device for capturing and selectively locking therein a portion of the working section of a key. When the key is locked in the device, its handle section is visible so that the presence of the key can be instantly determined without the unlocking of the apparatus, yet the key cannot be removed from the device until unlocked with a master key. Retention of the key within the housing is accomplished by a clamping mechanism employing a longitudinally sliding member having a wedge-like member which is urged toward the working section of the key upon the sliding member moving in a first longitudinal direction. The sliding member is moved by a bolt coupled to a lock which is rotated by a master key, and a nut which is held in a transverse slot of the slideable member. The master key when rotated in a second direction unthreads the bolt from the nut, moving the sliding member in the opposite longitudinal direction to release the wedge-like member which holds the key.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1983Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Inventor: Hildaur L. Patent number: 4448051Abstract: A key retaining device for capturing and selectively locking therein a portion of the working section of a key. When the key is locked in the device, its handle section is visible so that the presence of the key can be instantly determined without unlocking of the apparatus, yet the key cannot be removed from the device until unlocked with a master key. Retention of the key within the housing is accomplished by a resilient clamping mechanism employing a set of wedges which are resiliently urged toward the working section of the key and held there by a rachet spring. Insertion of a master key releases the ratchet spring allowing the wedges to release the key.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1982Date of Patent: May 15, 1984Inventor: Hildaur L. Neilsen

Patent number: 4441348Abstract: A key retaining device for capturing and selectively locking therein a portion of the working section of a key. When the key is locked in the device, its handle section is visible so that the presence of the key can be instantly determined without unlocking of the apparatus, yet the key cannot be removed from the device until unlocked with a master key. Retention of the key within the housing is accomplished by a clamping mechanism employing a pair of blades which reciprocate toward each other to clamp the working section of the key therebetween and reciprocate away from each other to permit free removal of the key, the reciprocation resulting from manipulation of the master key in a lock assembly.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1981Date of Patent: April 10, 1984Inventor: Hildaur L. Patent number: 4253223Abstract: A generally cylindrical, rotatable housing contains, against material axial shifting but with limited permissible lateral shifting, an approximately coaxial peening stem as a peening tool. An outer end of said tool, projecting from the housing, is formed with an encircling, continuous peening groove. The housing is formed with an uninterrupted circular series of inwardly facing projections within which the peening stem extends somewhat loosely. Upon rotation of the housing, forceful holding of a workpiece's metal edge in said groove while the workpiece is moved translationally, causes the peening tool to be rapidly hammered laterally, successively by the projections of said series; this hammering effect being transmitted by said tool to said metal edge whereby said edge is peened and deburred.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1979Date of Patent: March 3, 1981Inventor: Hildaur L. Neilsen
