Abstract: An intravaginal device (1600) includes arms (1602) and struts (1604). Each strut has a first end (1610) coupled to a shaft (1606) arranged to slide in a tube (1608) and a second end (1612) coupled to one of the arms (1602). A string (1616) is coupled to the shaft (1606). The arms (1602) have a stowed orientation in which the struts (1604) are folded inwards and a deployed orientation in which the struts (1604) point radially outwards and tautly hold the arms (1602) in an expanded position.

Abstract: A disposable catamenial device for the collection of menses discharge of the female human, including: a flexible resilient menstrual cup (MC), which includes: at least two resilient ribs extending inwardly from the inner surface of the MC base; an elastic rim frame connected to the top of the ribs; a reservoir bag connected to the rim in a sealed manner for collecting the menstrual fluid; and a withdrawal string connected to the cup bottom for enabling the extraction of said MC from the vagina. The MC has a drogue like structure comprising at least two flexible ribs having arcuate vertical struts (AVS) structure connected to a flat base. The ribs are connected to the elastic rim frame with at least two flexible arcuate horizontal struts (AHS).

The pressure oscillations generating unit may include one or more vibratable or movable members for generating pressure oscillations which may be powered by an internal or external power source. The devices may optionally include an absorbing member or a menses collecting member. A method of menstruation duration shortening includes placing the device within the vagina and applying pressure oscillations to the vagina or to a vaginal chamber formed within the vagina for increasing the flow rate of menses and shortening menstruation duration.
