  • Publication number: 20230145909
Abstract: A configurable pathway deviation indication system for medical device placement includes one or more user-adjustable pathway boundaries and an indication activated upon reaching or breaching of any of the pathway boundaries. The system may include a medical device configured to be inserted into a patient; a location transmitter configured to transmit a signal related to a position of the medical device; and a detector device configured to receive information related to the patient's body and the location transmitter. The system may be operatively coupled to the location transmitter and the at least one detector device. The system may further include a display and a computing system comprising one or more processors and or more non-transitory computer-readable media. The system can display the position of the location transmitter; determine if the position of the location transmitter reaches any pathway boundaries; and provide the indication when the pathway boundary is breached and/or approached.

  • Publication number: 20230036837
Abstract: A non-electrically driven enteral feeding pump including an expandable elastomeric bladder is provided. The enteral feeding pump includes a fluid delivery tube. The fluid delivery tube controls flow rate of fluid from the pump. The present invention further describes an enteral feeding pump assembly including the portable enteral feeding pump and a peristaltic pump. The peristaltic pump can be configured to be operatively coupled to the elastomeric bladder of the enteral feeding pump for transferring fluid from a reservoir external to the elastomeric bladder into a chamber of the elastomeric bladder.

  • Publication number: 20220032010
Abstract: A tubing assembly for use with electronic catheter guidance systems is provided and includes a catheter, an ultrasound transducer disposed within the catheter, and an optional additional external ultrasound transducer. The catheter extends in a longitudinal direction and has a proximal end and a distal end defining a lumen therebetween. Further, the catheter is configured for placement within a patient's digestive tract or respiratory tract. The ultrasound transducer can be located within the catheter's lumen, and the optional external ultrasound transducer can be located on or outside the patient's body. Both ultrasound transducers can transmit ultrasound signals as directed by a processor and can communicate with the processor to deliver ultrasound data to a display device. The attenuation of the ultrasound energy at a selected frequency can indicate placement of the catheter in the digestive tract or respiratory tract. A catheter guidance system and method of use are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220031278
Abstract: A tubing assembly for electronic catheter guidance systems is provided and can include a catheter, an internal acoustic transducer and an external acoustic transducer. The catheter extends in a longitudinal direction and has proximal and distal ends that define a lumen therebetween. Further, the catheter is configured for placement within a patient's digestive or respiratory tract. The internal acoustic transducer can be located within the catheter's lumen, and the external acoustic transducer can be located on or outside the patient's body. The transducers can transmit and/or receive acoustic signals as directed by a processor and communicate with the processor to deliver sound data to a display device. The frequency response and/or attenuation of the signals can indicate placement of the catheter in the digestive tract compared to the respiratory tract. A catheter guidance system and method for accurately placing a catheter in the digestive or respiratory tract are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20100278762
Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions for use as a sunscreen or sunblock which, in some embodiments, may provide long-acting, waterproof or water-resistant, broad spectrum topical sun protection with activity up to weeks without reapplication. In some embodiments, the compositions may include a base and one or more active ingredients. In some embodiments, the base may include an adhesive component, which upon application to a user's skin, adheres the base to the user's skin. In some embodiments, the adhesive component is adapted to hold the active ingredients on the user's skin for at least about 8 hours, such as at least about 24 hours, such as at least about 3 days, or even at least about 2 weeks. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the composition may be waterproof or water-resistant, In some embodiments, the one or more active ingredients may include a photodamage protective ingredient, and/or a photodamage reparative ingredient.

  • Publication number: 20030233125
Abstract: The invention relates to devices and methods for positioning an implant at a target location in the body. The methods include testing an implant while within an injection device at a target location to determine whether the implant is functioning effectively. The methods also include testing from or delivery of materials to the target location during implantation, and loading the injection device for use. The device may be configured to permit the longitudinal and/or axial position of the implant to be maintained relative to an injection device during implantation. The device may also be configured to permit testing of the implant. The invention also may include implants configured for use in the injection devices.
