  • Publication number: 20200206520
Abstract: A method of determining whether rapid pulse indicative of ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation (VF) requires electric shock to defibrillate the rapid pulse using blood flow as a robust indicator of blood pressure stability. Preferably, the blood flow monitor is an optical sensor capable of monitoring blood flow change the moment VT or VF has begun its onset.

  • Publication number: 20200037903
Abstract: A device and a method for assessing the likelihood of an imminent occurrence of cardiac arrest. The device comprises an optical sensor for monitoring the heart rhythm of a person. A Machine Learning Algorithm such as the Artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm analyze features from a trending of pulse intervals in the person's heart rhythm in real time to make the assessment. The device is provided in wearable form, such as a wrist worn device.

  • Publication number: 20180360323
Abstract: A device and a method which monitors the pulse transit time of a heart beat is disclosed, i.e. the time taken for a heart impulse to travel from the heart to a limb of a subject. The time taken to travel is calibrated to blood pressure of the subject by a pre-determined formula. However, the calibration is augmented by empirical observations, obtaining several optional calibrations. The most suitable of the calibrations is selected to interpret each pulse transit time reading based on proximity of the pulse transit time. Hence, it is possible that every pulse transit time reading may use a different calibration. The method diminishes the effect of physiological change in the subject which causes drift in a solely formula based calibration.
