  • Patent number: 4204399
Abstract: A watch, and more particularly a wristwatch is disclosed in which the hours are only displayed in an analog manner and the minutes are only displayed in a digital manner. In the suggested display concept, the time of day is not illustrated in multiple fashion, but rather in a partially analog and partially digital manner. An analog hour display immediately provides a first overview completely sufficing in many cases, whereas a precise display for minutes and, if necessary, for seconds in digital form supplements the feeling for time provided by the hour display with effortless precision. The analog display is advantageously formed by chronologically, consecutively actuated, luminescence elements normally grouped in the shape of a wreath ("quasi-analog display").

  • Patent number: 3970891
Abstract: An electron collector for an electron beam tube, in particular a high performance transit time tube, employs a hollow member for receiving the electrons, which hollow member is surrounded by a metallic cooling sleeve which is grounded during operation of the tube and which is electrically insulated therefrom for an operating potential which deviates from the ground potential. The collector is particularly characterized in that it comprises a highly heat resistant material with a low vapor pressure (melting point at least approximately 2,000.degree.C) and apart from an insulating attachment in the area of its electron beam entry opening extends by forming a vacuum space completely free standing into the cooling sleeve. The cooling sleeve is blackened at its inner surface facing the collector and is permeated during operation by a coolant supplied from a forced cooling system.

  • Patent number: 3942136
Abstract: An electron beam tube for time multiplexing a plurality of signal channels on an extremely high frequency carrier includes an electron gun, a deflection system for causing the electron beam generated by the electron gun to sweep in a circular path past a plurality of individual electrodes which are excited with signals corresponding to the signals of individual channels, for modulating the beam with the channel signals, and a target for collecting the modulated beam to produce a time multiplexed output signal. The output signal may be amplified within the tube.
