    Abstract: The present invention provides an asphalt additive comprising a tire rubber powder and a petroleum resin. This asphalt additive is used in preparation of a reformed asphalt and paving material, which is effective in reduction of noise from traffic, minimization of crevice from contraction of road in winter and plastic deformation of road in summer, prevention of traffic accidents due to slippery road when raining, and prevention of water curtain and splash. Further, the road structure employing the present invention is helpful for protection of water resource. Moreover, the present invention provides an asphalt composition (echophalt) using the asphalt additive, and a method for preparation of the asphalt composition and its application.
