  • Publication number: 20240059969
Abstract: Described herein is a corrosion inhibitor for use in an aqueous brine solution; the brine solution may be a drilling fluid or refrigeration fluid. The corrosion inhibitor comprises a reducing sugar, such as a monosaccharide, a disaccharide, a polysaccharide, or any combination thereof. A method of drilling a borehole is also described; the method comprises injecting a drilling fluid into the borehole, wherein the drilling fluid comprises an aqueous brine solution comprising a reducing sugar as a corrosion inhibitor.

  • Publication number: 20240052230
Abstract: Described herein is a water-based drilling fluid comprising a high concentration of one or more soluble salts and a high concentration of one or more non-reducing sugar alcohols. The described drilling fluid has a lower environmental footprint than the conventional brine-based drilling fluids or oil-based drilling muds. A method of using the drilling fluid is also disclosed; the method comprises injecting a water-based drilling fluid comprising a high concentration of one or more soluble salts and a high concentration of one or more non-reducing sugar alcohols into a borehole.

  • Publication number: 20170210968
Abstract: An oil and gas reservoir treatment solution composition comprises an amino acid hydrochloride or esterified amino acid hydrochloride. The treatment fluid composition can be used to remove the formation damage or the filter cake after the drilling operation. The treatment fluid may also be used as part or all of a spearhead, preflush, spacer, post flush, matrix acidizing and fracture acidizing solution where a low pH solution can remove deposits otherwise harmful to the production of oil and gas operation.
