Abstract: Provided is a cosmetic composition having excellent storage stability and excellent moisturizing effect as well as excellent tanning speed and evenness of tanning. The cosmetic composition comprising the following components (A) to (E): (A) a copolymer or crosspolymer which comprises, as a constituent unit, at least one selected from the group consisting of an acrylic acid salt and hydroxyethyl acrylate, and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid or a salt thereof; polyacrylamide; or a mixture thereof; (B) a polyglycerol fatty acid ester; (C) 10 to 35 mass % of a polyhydric alcohol; (D) 0.1 to 20 mass % of a liquid oil; and (E) a tanning agent, and having a viscosity of from 2,000 to 20,000 mPa·s.
